ty the tasmanian tiger 2 xbox

It wasn’t that long ago that TY the Tasmanian Tiger HD released on Xbox One, bringing a uniquely Aussie platforming experience and a charming visual style to Microsoft’s most passionate players. Now though it’s time for that adventure to continue as Krome Studios release TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Due to launch on PS4 come June 30th as well, today is all about the Xbox players as TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD becomes available to purchase, download and utterly enjoy.

It’s arrived with a £23.49 price tag in place, yet after running a successful Kickstarter campaign allowed for a remastering of the 2004 classic, we think that price is a more than acceptable one, giving players the opportunity to join their old Aussie mates with a remastering of the platforming classic.

TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD will see you chucking boomerangs around the Australian Outback as you bite, smash and glide your way through proceedings, all in hope that you can help the citizens of Burramudgee fight back against the evil Boss Cass.

It’s a world that is now powered by the most powerful consoles ever and this should mean that every locale looks absolutely beautiful, allowing you to move from the beach, to the desert, to the billabong and more, enjoying the old-school platforming as you go.

But it’s not just a remaster we’re seeing here and with TY2 you should expect to discover a photo mode, a number of levels which are powered by split-screen karting, a new Hardcore game mode, new skins, achievements and more. In fact, all the following are promised…

  • Explore from the beach to the desert to the billabong and beyond in a huge open world of old-school 3D platforming glory.
  • Arm yourself with 20 different boomerangs including the classic Ironbark, Flamerang and two NEW rangs!
  • Brand new photo-mode.
  • A wide variety of vehicles like the Fourbie, cart, and mechs.
  • 7 Levels of two-player split-screen cart racing.
  • Improved camera & graphics; including updated shadows, reflections and HD resolutions.
  • New Gamemode called “Hardcore Mode”.
  • Character customization with NEW skins for TY and paint for the Fourbie!
  • 25 Achievements, plus Speed Run and Time Attack Leaderboards.
  • Audio Director’s cut

“Taking advantage of the power of modern consoles, we’ve enhanced Southern Rivers and added new gameplay too,” explains Lindsay Parmenter, Studio Director at Krome Studios. “Now you can measure your progress against your friends with achievements and leaderboards.”

Steve Stamatiadis, Creative Director shared, “We’re chuffed that nearly 20 years later, TY the Tasmanian Tiger still has so many people in love with the game and its characters. That’s quite an honor.”

We’ll have a full review of TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD on Xbox for you in the days ahead. Before that arrives though you can get full access to the game through the Xbox Store. You’ll also find TY2 rocking up on PlayStation come the 30th June.

Game Description:

TY puts the BOOM in BOOMERANG! TY the Tasmanian Tiger™ 2: Bush Rescue™ is the sequel to Krome Studios’ charming Australiana-themed videogame. This classic platformer, updated for Xbox One, features more rangs, more vehicles, more bots, and more EVERYTHING… in an open world Aussie Adventure. Throw boomerangs, bite, smash and glide your way around the Australian Outback and stop the evil plans of the wicked Boss Cass and help the good folk of the little country town of BURRAMUDGEE. This sequel to the popular TY the Tasmanian Tiger is a game on a grander scale. In addition to classic platforming elements, you’ll fight Aussie bush fires from a helicopter, drive around Southern Rivers while hanging on to the back of a four-wheel drive and use the bots to defeat enemies and solve puzzles – all while trying to find a variety of different collectables. And now, only on the HD remaster, you can customize TY’s looks, and best of all there are two brand NEW never before seen boomerangs.
