ships simulator

We’ve watched the trailer for Ships Simulator as the game releases on Xbox – frankly, it’s terrifying.

Who knew that taking charge of some sea-going vessels could be so stressful, so delicate, so, well yes, terrifying? And yes, we’ve played Sea of Thieves.

But that’s what we’re getting as Ships Simulator breaks out of the PC scene – with the game known as Ships 2017 over there – and releases on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. A game that offers up potential ship captains the opportunity to sail the Baltic Sea with some of the finest naval vessels known to mankind, as you take in twenty-four of the most diverse of missions.

What goes on in Ships Simulator should stay in Ships Simulator, but we’ll break some boundaries and explain that you’ll be tasked with getting on with standard shipping segments. For instance, ripping stuff from the seabed and transporting it across the world will be standard job stuff, but rescue missions will go down too, all as you get to command a variety of ships – a container ship, a deepwater construction vessel and a semi-submersible transport vessel.

With total control over how Ships Simulator plays out, expect to find the following key features in place…

  • – 3 special purpose vessels
  • – 24 interesting missions
  • – ship renovation system
  • – crew management mode
  • – realistic water thanks to the advanced graphics and physics engine

A full review of Ships Simulator on Xbox will be coming your way soon, but for now head over to the Xbox Store to get your sea-legs. Ships Simulator is available for £12.49 on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Game Description:

Take control over 3 special purpose naval vessels. Complete various missions on dangerous waters of Baltic Sea. Take part in recovery of objects from the bottom of the sea. Transport heavy cargo to its final destination, also including rescue and transport missions. Assemble massive naval installations on open waters. Take control over the ship crew and their accessories (such as fire extinguishers, fire hoses, water cannons, inflatables and searchlights) in order to defend your ship against pirate attack, to extinguish fire on board or to pick survivors in a special game mode.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
