It’s Season’s Greetings in Lake

Did you love Lake when you first played it? Do you love the holiday season? You’d do well to grab the newly released Lake: Season’s Greetings DLC.

Available on Xbox, PlayStation and PC right now is Lake: Season’s Greetings. This expansion looks to deliver the holiday cheer as Thomas Weiss in this cozy new chapter to the popular mail carrier sim! Surely there is nothing better than grabbing a nice cup of cocoa and your favourite blanket, before jumping right into the winter wonderland of Providence Oaks today.

Head back into the Lake

Lake: Season’s Greetings takes place during 1985’s holiday season. For those who have (or haven’t) played the base game, that is one year before the original Lake game. Players take on the role of Thomas Weiss, an amiable mail carrier and father to Lake’s protagonist, Meredith Weiss. It’s here where Season’s Greetings changes the perspective from Meredith to her father, allowing players to gather more of an understanding of the Weiss family dynamics and an insight into a snow-covered Providence Oaks from a long-time resident’s point of view.

But you won’t just get to learn more about the familiar faces and how they have grown to love from the main story. Season’s Greetings introduces five completely new characters to the town of Providence Oaks, each with their very own storylines.

The DLC also provides more background to some unanswered questions that were teased in Lake. As you would expect to hear, it sticks by following the ideals of the base game. All as Season’s Greetings continues to focus on slice-of-life themes and relaxing vibes, this time embedded in a comfy holiday setting.

Features of the DLC

Key features of Lake: Season’s Greetings include:

  • Travel back to 1985 and discover what Providence Oaks was like before Meredith through the eyes of her father during the winter holiday.
  • Enjoy a variety of after-work activities that include hanging with friends, staying in for a night of television, and going out like it’s 1985.
  • Experience a branching story that doesn’t shy away from slice-of-life themes. Like life, there are no right or wrong answers.

Get adding that expansion

With a base copy of Lake on your system of choice, you can get access to the new Lake: Season’s Greetings expansion right now. It’s available from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It’s also on PlayStation and PC. £8.39 feels decent enough, no?

Our review of Lake: Season’s Greetings is coming soon. Until then, get into those comments.
