Back in 2017 Aqua Kitty UDX dropped onto Xbox One and fast became a contender for indie game of the year. Now, some four years later the Tikipod team are back, and this time they are taking the kitten to space with Astro Aqua Kitty.
Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, after previously launching on PS4, Vita and Nintendo Switch, Astro Aqua Kitty forgoes the need to head down under the waves, to instead head skywards, forcing the kitty cats into space for an all-new RPG styled action shoot ’em up.
An adventure like no other, Astro Aqua Kitty will have you picking your crew of wannabe space heroes from a range of delightful cats, pairing them up with a specialist engineer (a rabbit, dog, reptile or duck!) before being left to shoot your way through outer space.
Why? Well, you’ve been tasked with investigation some mysterious asteroids, and it just so happens that these are filled with water. And gems, Loads of gems. The problem is, there are a bunch of marauding pirate rabbits frequenting these black spaces too, and so you’ll need to use all your skills, abilities, upgrades and reflexes to take them down, all whilst staying safe.
If that sounds bizarre, you’d be right, but with no less then eight huge levels to traverse, multiple difficulty modes allowing for decent tests, a multitude of pilot and engineer combos and enough XP, gems, upgrades and more to keep you busy for some time, this could well be as delightful as the original game was.
Should you be up for heading to space with a kitty crew that take no prisoners, you will find yourself able to pick up a copy of Astro Aqua Kitty from the Xbox Store right now. £12.49 seems a more than acceptable price to pay.
