For an independent studio like Ascendant Studios, the importance of the ‘EA Originals’ label for any new game cannot be understated. With their new fantasy FPS Immortals of Aveum bidding for a 2023 launch onto PC and console, the hopes are that a collaboration with EA is just the thing the team need to propel this into the triple-A space.
Debuting at the recent Game Awards 2022, Immortals of Aveum delivers a captivating FPS campaign full to the brim of magical attacks and the simply jaw-dropping visuals that you would want from such a title. It’s with the help of EA that Immortals of Aveum has been taken from an indie concept to a fully fledged triple-A title. Brett Robbins, CEO and Game Director at Ascendant, is keen to emphasise this:
“I was the creative director on four big games in a row, the original Dead Space and three Call of Duty titles, and I had an amazing opportunity to start my own studio and build an incredible team that I’m lucky to work with every day,”… “I founded Ascendant Studios to make original and epic games, and here we are, four years later, about to finish our first one. What started as a crazy, exciting idea has grown into a crazy, exciting triple-A game. I chose EA as our publishing partner because we know they’ll help Immortals of Aveum reach the biggest audience possible.
