With the recent switch of The Sims 4 from a paid game to a free-to-play model, what reason do us Sims fans have to reach into our pocket and pull out some cash? Well, those all-important Kits, of course! Today two new Kits – bringing brand new items to the world of The Sims 4 – release to those of us wanting to spruce up our homes just a tad more.
Releasing today on Xbox, PlayStation and PC consoles, each Kit appeals to very different vibes, but we are sure any home could do with either the psychedelic pinks of the Pastel Pop Kit, or the lived-in homely style of the Everyday Clutter Kit.
Starting off with the former, and the Pastel Pop Kit will be right up your street if you are a particular Hello Kitty enthusiast, or are the sort to adorn every single wall, ceiling, floor and doorframe with pink, pink, and more pink! Especially suited to bedrooms, this Kit will add in pastel printed rugs, wallpapers and more, as well as irregularly-shaped items to give your room some added quirks to it. Perfect for an incoming baby, perhaps?
Key features of that pastel perfection?…
- Avant Basic — Decorating should be fun and carefree! Give your room a quirky side with irregular, but simple, shapes in dreamy pastel colors. This collection has heart chairs, mirrors shaped like puddles, and even more ways to incorporate whimsy into everyday design.
- Blast From the Past — Create a contemporary space that draws inspiration from times gone by. The patterned bed sheets and psychedelically curved table legs in this kit are nostalgic for summertime in the 60s and 70s, but they still fit right in with modern, understated, décor.
Also launching into The Sims 4 today is the Everyday Clutter Kit, designed in collaboration with creative Simmer Jesse ‘Plumbella’ McNamara. This one well and truly throws it back to the ‘60s and ‘70s with those warming oranges and browns that adorned these decades. If your Sims are looking to settle down with each other, and live out the idealistic family lifestyle, then what better to do so with heart chairs, puddle-shaped mirrors, and more unique items to include in your house?
There are a couple of key features for the Everyday Clutter Kit too…
- It’s Personal — A cell phone case in your Sim’s favorite color, a stack of books and games placed off to the side in their living room, a creative display of pictures – this collection includes tons of small, personal, touches that will make your Sim’s house feel more like home.
- Show to Tell — Scattering used coffee cups to show your Sim is a big fan of caffeine or adding makeup and jewelry boxes to the top of their dresser for a hint at their morning routine are just a couple examples of the visual storytelling this kit empowers.
As with many Kits in The Sims 4, you can pick up a download code for the Pastel Pop Kit and Everyday Clutter Kit via your platform’s store.
