The Summer Slam Stampede arrives as ranked play hits ONRUSH this month

-

ONRUSH the team based racer from Codemasters has been out in the wild for a couple of months now, injecting a refreshing take on racing with objective based modes rather than the race to win found in most racers… there isn’t even a finish line!

This month now sees the release of the much anticipated ranked mode for ONRUSH on both Xbox One and PS4. Once again the game aims to switch up the usual rules and bring something fresh to the table.

The mode will run in “seasons” with the first being the ONRUSH Summer Slam. Pre-season will kick off proceedings from the 13th of August and runs for two weeks – during this phase players have the opportunity to unlock exclusive rewards that include XP bonuses, credits and unique Tombstones.

During Pre-Season players will be able to take part in several ‘placement’ games to determine their skill level, and will be issued one of the following ranks:

  • Bronze: Jack, Queen, King, Ace
  • Silver: Jack, Queen, King, Ace
  • Gold: Jack, Queen, King, Ace
  • Platinum: Jack, Queen, King, Ace

Running for eight weeks, beginning on the 27th of August the first season will offer up some great rewards including new celebrations, new epic character outfits, vehicle shells, liveries, XP bonuses and new Tombstones.

“Ranked Mode is something the community have been asking for since day one, and we can’t wait for people to start battling it out to see who the best in the world is,” said Kris Pope, Lead Designer, ONRUSH. “In Ranked Mode, your rank will go up or down depending on how well you perform in-game. Winning as a team is, of course, the aim of the game, but individual achievements, such as the MVP award; will also help your ranking.”

“Each season will feature eight challenge cards, with a new card being unlocked every week,” Kris continued. “Each of these cards has three rewards that a player can earn by winning matches. Each win will earn the player 100 points towards each card. However, a player can increase the points they earn towards each card by unlocking seasonal win bonuses.”

Having just closed out a free play weekend on Xbox One ONRUSH is currently available at a 40% discount on the Xbox Store. Also, feel free to check out our review of the game where we praised Codemasters for “redefining the racing genre”.
