It’s something we can all relate to – a lockdown on the back of a pandemic. But whilst many will never want to experience such things again, we can’t help but get excited by the FMV point and clicking of The World After as it releases on Xbox.

Having dropped onto Nintendo Switch and PlayStation in recent weeks, PixelHeart now bring The World After to Xbox. It’s playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S with an £8.39 price tag giving access via the Xbox Store.

Full motion video and point and click

The World After is a brand new sci-fi full-motion video adventure game experience. Created during the 2020 French pandemic lockdown, it stars Jean-Claude Dreyfus (The City of Lost Children, Delicatessen), attempting to merge old-school point and click mechanics and modern cinematography technology.

In the World After you’ll find yourself thrust into a pandemic lockdown in France. It’s here where the story of Vincent comes to the fore. He’s a writer that fled the city in order to work on his new book. However, recurring strange dreams push him to look for the truth behind the village mystery and as he investigates an old castle, he finds a way to switch between night and day. The problem? Well, he’s being chased by a dreadful monster, The Nightwatcher.

Will you be able to help Vincent find answers? What lies beyond the Tannhäuser Gate? Who or what is The Nightwatcher? What is the meaning of the strange messages he keeps on finding?
