When Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick team up, you just know something is going to be good. Thimbleweed Park therefore has a lot to live up to.
Available to download right now on Xbox One (and then Win10 with Xbox Play Anywhere when it releases there), Thimbleweed Park is a neo-noir mystery set back in the ’80s…1987 to be precise. Delivering a vast, but hugely bizarre world that you are left to explore at your own pace, no less than five playable characters, a ton of puzzles and a joke every two minutes (apparently), the ÂŁ16.74 asking price quickly makes it look like a bit of a bargain.
When you then realise that the creative minds between Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion have produced Thimbleweed, then it becomes an altogether more interesting, and super exciting, proposition.
If you agree with our thoughts, then the Xbox Games Store is waiting for your cash and will happily deliver the adventure to your console. Just get over there and buy it will ya!
Game Description:
Welcome to Thimbleweed Park. Population: 80 nutcases. A haunted hotel, an abandoned circus, a burnt-out pillow factory, a dead body pixelating under the bridge, toilets that run on vacuum tubes… you’ve never visited a place like this before. Five people with nothing in common have been drawn to this rundown, forgotten town. They don’t know it yet, but they are all deeply connected. And they’re being watched. …Who is Agent Ray really working for and will she get what they want? …What does Junior Agent Reyes know about a 20 year old factory fire that he’s not saying? …Will the ghost, Franklin, get to speak to his daughter again? …Will Ransome the *Beeping* Clown ever become a decent human being? …Will aspiring game developer Delores abandon her dreams and stick by her family? …And most importantly: how come no one cares about that dead body? By the end of a long, strange night in Thimbleweed Park, all of this will be answered — and you’ll question everything you thought you knew. In a town like Thimbleweed Park, a dead body is the least of your problems. Coming soon to Windows 10 PC and will support Xbox Play Anywhere. Purchasing on Xbox One today also gives you the ability to play on Windows 10 PC when it releases, at no additional cost.
