Turtle Beach unveil new Recon 70 Headset as Battle Buds start to ship

It’s a busy old day for the team at Turtle Beach – one of the world’s leading gaming headset manufacturers – as they unveil the brand new Recon 70 Gaming Headset, and confirm that their Battle Buds have started to ship.

So, first things first, and you can begin to say goodbye to the much loved Turtle Beach 50 series, with the all-new Turtle Beach Recon 70 Gaming Headset succeeding it.

The Recon 50 has been one of the best selling headsets of recent years, but now it’s time for something new to take hold, and that comes in the form of the Recon 70, a headset built for victories across every genre and gaming platform.

The new Recon 70 works lovingly with the Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch, with a red accented version being provided for the later machine, and both black and white options available for Xbox One and PS4 players.

Whatever colour you choose though, you’ll find that the Recon 70 has been built to give gamers the advantage they need on any battlefield. Available for a MSRP of just £29.99, the Recon 70 promises to deliver high-quality game audio through some powerful 40mm over-ear speakers, all whilst featuring Turtle Beach’s signature high-sensitivity flip-to-mute mic.

It also comes with a lightweight design which includes a padded and adjustable headband, while synthetic leather-wrapped ear cushions provide unmatched comfort so that you can really focus on the match at hand, and secure that win.

The Recon 70 for Nintendo Switch is available now at www.turtlebeach.com and at participating retailers in North America, whilst the black and white models of the Recon 70 for Xbox One and PS4 will hit North America on May 1st 2019. Further to that, a midnight red version for PS4 will also be available on the same day.

For those of us residing in the UK, the Recon 70 for Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch is available right now at Argos, with broader availability in participating European territories set for April 1st 2019. In Europe, the midnight red version of the Recon 70 will be for the Nintendo Switch and will launch at retail at the end of May 2019. If you are interested, then you can get your pre-orders for these models in now – just head to www.turtlebeach.com.

“The Recon 50 has been the best-selling wired gaming headset in the U.S. and Canada for the past two years, and the all-new Recon 70 builds upon its predecessor with a refined design and our great flip-to-mute mic, all for the same £29.99 price,” said Juergen Stark, CEO, Turtle Beach. “The Recon 70 is also available in more colour options and is compatible with all gaming systems, so we believe we’ll see the Recon 70 continue the Recon 50’s trend of ‘best-seller’ with enough time in the market.”

Key features include:

  • LIGHTWEIGHT COMFORT – A lightweight headset design ensures complete comfort during those hours-long gaming sessions featuring a padded headband and ear cushions.
  • FLIP-UP MIC – Turtle Beach’s renowned high-sensitivity mic picks up your voice loud and clear to ensure your commands are always heard. Previously available on higher-end headset models, the mic can be flipped up out of the way to mute when not in use, and blends into the headset’s design.
  • HIGH-QUALITY 40MM SPEAKERS – Superior 40mm over-ear speakers deliver amazing game sound so you hear every crisp high and thundering low.
  • PREMIUM EAR CUSHIONS – Synthetic leather-wrapped ear cushions provide added comfort, improved bass response and better noise-isolation.
  • MULTIPLATFORM COMPATIBILITY – Designed for the Nintendo Switch and also works great with Xbox One, PS4 Pro & PS4, PC, and mobile devices with a 3.5mm connection.

If you are after a new gaming headset and feel the need for superior audio, crystal-clear communication, and lightweight comfort, then the Turtle Beach Recon 70 Gaming Headset delivers it all and should seriously be considered.

However, if you want something a little different, then Turtle Beach have also got your back there too, with their Battle Buds.

Shipping internationally right now, the standout feature of the Turtle Beach Battle Buds is the removable high-sensitivity boom microphone which delivers crystal-clear in-game chat with other players. When not gaming, the boom mic can be easily detached, and the inline mic then used for taking calls and chatting on the go. Additionally, the Battle Buds come with 10mm speakers that deliver full-range sound, as well as a standard 3.5mm connection to ensure compatibility with nearly all mobile devices, along with Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

The Battle Buds come in two colour options too – bright white with teal accents, or sleek black with silver accents. You can grab them right now from www.turtlebeach.com for just £24.99.

“The Battle Buds use our renowned mic technology to deliver a great multiplayer chat experience, just in a smaller, more portable package created for gamers playing on Nintendo Switch™ and mobile devices,” said Juergen Stark, CEO, Turtle Beach. “Battle Buds sound great whether gaming or listening to music, and both mics pick up your voice loud and clear, whether you’re coordinating with your squad to ensure you get the next win, or on a call with a friend talking about your next match.”
