The year-long contract ends for several Game Pass games today. February 2021 must have been quite the month, as the games leaving the scheme today are all of a very high caliber. There’s Control (Cloud, Console, and PC), Code Vein (Cloud, Console, and PC), Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age (Console and PC), The Medium (Cloud, Console, and PC), Project Winter (Cloud, Console, and PC) and The Falconeer (Cloud, Console, and PC).
That’s not to say that these games won’t return in the future. We have plenty of examples of games returning to the service, with Outer Wilds being a recent example, so don’t fret too much if you’re losing a game that you planned on playing. An alternative is that all of these games will remain at a reduced price for a short period so that you can pick them up.
The big misses are Control, Remedy’s ice-cold shooter and adventure game, and The Medium, Bloober Team’s paranormal action-adventure. So let us offer some alternatives! Remedy have, just this week, released their latest shooter, CrossfireX, and it’s on Game Pass too. It may be having the odd server issue right now, but those tend to right themselves after a few days. And in terms of The Medium, Bloober Team still have several of their game’s on Game Pass. Check out Observer and Layers of Fear if you haven’t had the chance.
Incoming, possibly even today, will be the announcements about February’s other launches. We are reasonably confident that Total War Warhammer III will be dropping on PC only on February 17th, but the rest will be a surprise! We don’t expect Elden Ring or GRID Legends to arrive on Game Pass day one, but we are crossing our fingers that survival sim AWAY: The Survival Series and acclaimed horror game Martha is Dead will make their way to the service. We can hope!
In the meantime, let us know if any of the departing games were on your backlog with a comment below, or do the same on social media.
The game pass is quite expensive. I’m much better at buying games that interest me the most. Thanks to the https://royalcdkeys.com website, I don’t have to overpay and I buy my games much cheaper.
