Which of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold bargains should you pick up? – 3rd-9th April 2018

-

Payday was just a few short days ago but chances are you’ve squandered your earnings and are already looking to the bargain bins for your next gaming hits. That’s where the Xbox Live Deals With Gold and Spotlight Sale comes in and with the Spring Sale in tow, there are a huge number of discounted games on both Xbox One and Xbox 360 to enjoy. But which are the ones you should be hunting down immediately, and which should you be leaving to one side? We take a look at the very best… and the downright worst deals of the week.

GrabSky Force Anniversary – 50% off – £4.00

As the Xbox Games Pass continues to go from strength to strength, it’s tricky to find a decent indie game that is included in the Pass, but still represents great value for money should you wish to purchase it separately. That was until Sky Force Anniversary came along.

See, for £4 you can grab an utterly stunning vertically scrolling shooter that just gives more and more by the day. With tons of content included, enough of a test to ensure you’ll be playing it not just weeks, but in fact months, down the line, and a great price tag attached, you shouldn’t be missing out on this one.

Granted, Sky Force Reloaded is better. But that’s not currently discounted by 50% is it!

GrabDemon’s Crystals – 75% off – £1.32

You may think that a game that is being sold for £1.32 is going to be a bit rubbish. But you’d be wrong as Demon’s Crystals is a hell of a lot of fun.

It’s not the best game in the world, and you may well tire of the fast paced manic twin stick shooting just a few days down the line, but if you need something to scratch that itch and want to be given a little test at the same time, then you can’t really go wrong.

Whether you’re playing the solo Arcade, pushing the limits with the Survival mode or messing around with mates via the multitude of multiplayer options, Demon’s Crystals will keep you more than happy. As will the price.

GrabSnake Pass – 50% off – £8.12

It’s not the cheapest deal of the week, and it’s certainly much more expensive than picking up both Sky Force and Demon’s Crystals, but Snake Pass is utterly unique and due to the recent one year anniversary update, it now comes with even more reason to play.

Taking charge of Noodle the Snake and Doodle the Hummingbird, you’ll need to help Noodle slither and slide his way over, across, through and round all many of obstacles in order to grab Keystones and open up magical gates. With cute visuals, a brilliant control scheme, and enough of a test to make you actually feel like you are achieving something, Snake Pass is a delight from start to end.

And now the speedrunners will be happy too and that’s all thanks to the recently added Arcade Mode.

Leave – Well, that’s a tricky one

I could sit here and tell you to leave alone the NBA VC discounts, the GTA bundles with Shark cards, or the numerous EA games which are available at a cut price – but still offer better bang for your buck via a year long EA Access subscription. But I won’t and instead I’ll pick out one game that is just a bit rubbish…

Or at least I would if I could find something within the deals this week that is a bit crap. But truth be told, it’s a damn decent week of sales and no matter what you pick up, chances are it’ll be a half decent game.

But going back to my original point. Unless you’re a massive NBA fan and HAVE to buy Virtual Currency, or are the only person in the world not to have picked up GTA 5, or just have money to burn and prefer to purchase FIFA, Madden and the likes individually over grabbing the brilliant EA Access subscription, just leave all that lot alone yeah. It’s not like you won’t have another chance at any point in the next few weeks!

So there we have it… if you wish to take our opinions as the gospel truth, and fancy picking up the games mentioned, then you could do worse than check out the super cheap Xbox Live Credit that CDKeys are dealing with. It’ll see your money go a darn sight further than it would normally.
