After a disappointing couple of weeks on the Xbox Live Deals With Gold front, the latest sale is now in place. Surely it’s got to be a bit better than the last few weeks? Join us as we take a look through the best and worst deals in place for 4th-10th August 2015.

…and it is indeed a better week than those recently gone by, with a couple games now at ideal prices. That said, there is still the old ‘EA issue’ that we keep going on about!

Grab – Borderlands – 75% off – £3.74 and Borderlands 2 – 75% off – £4.99 – Xbox 360.

Whilst Borderlands: The Handsome Collection on Xbox One looks interesting, the price doesn’t make it quite as tempting as the 360 Borderlands offerings. The original title and its sequel can be picked up for a little over £8 and that represents amazing value for money. You may have to invest a little more if you want to check out the numerous DLC bits and bobs but for base games, both Borderlands and Borderlands 2 are at superb price points.

Leave – Any of the EA titles on Xbox One!

Two words. EA Access.

The days of looking forward to a decent EA sale died as soon as the EA Access scheme became available on Xbox One. Bringing you a ton of games, all for a cheap annual price, no matter how much Xbox decide to cut the likes of FIFA 15, Madden 15, NHL 15, UFC or NBA Live 15, the smart money goes on an EA Access subscription instead. The decision to throw the Deluxe Edition of FIFA 15 at a cheaper price than the standard edition is just real strange too!

Do yourself a favour and get signed up to the EA Access model right now. You can thank us later.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
