It may seem hard to believe, but theHunter: Call of the Wild has been stalking prey on Xbox for some six years. But still it goes strong, having taken in various iterations in that time. And now? Well, we finally get the chance to pet the dog with the new Labrador Retriever DLC for theHunter: Call of the Wild.
A new companion in theHunter: Call of the Wild
Available today for all who have a copy of the base game of theHunter: Call of the Wild is the new Labrador Retriever content pack. Available across Xbox, PlayStation and PC, this does very much what it says on the tin, dropping a loyal Lab in as your lifelong companion. And it only costs £4.99.
We’ve previously seen a canine companion rock up in other games – most recently Autobahn Police Simulator 3 – and we’ve previously listed the best dogs in gaming, but now we get to take one on the hunt with us too. All thanks to Avalanche Studios.
This one arrives to be a bit of a welcome hand, an invaluable asset out in the field. You see, Labs love to fetch, and this one will do just that with glee, retrieving game from across the lands. And then, when you pop off home, you can spend time with your new friend, petting them and feeding treats.
Key features of the DLC
This is the second canine addition to theHunter: Call of the Wild after a previous Bloodhound DLC pack. We think the Labrador Retriever DLC is something all hunters should have by their side.
If you agree, expect the key features to run as follows…
- A more efficient way to play theHunter: Call of the Wild. The Labrador will retrieve harvests on command and bring them quickly back in a priority order determined by the player.
- A bond that grows over time. Players can pet their new companion, offer treats, and play together to grow a closer connection, and improve their Lab’s capability by taking frequent hunts together. The Labrador Retriever will even be waiting for the player, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, back at the lodge.
- A unique Labrador for every hunter. Players can pick a male or female pup, and then customize the Labrador Retriever with its own name, one of seven fur coat variations, and traits to match each hunting style.
You’ll find theHunter: Call of the Wild: Labrador Retriever DLC on the usual digital storefronts. It goes without saying you’ll need the base game. But from there there likes of the Xbox Store will sort you out.
Say hello to the Labrador Retriever, your faithful new friend and hunting partner!
