We’ve been looking forward to this day for many a month, but finally Team17 and their indie developing friends at Villa Gorilla have confirmed the release date for the awesome looking Yoku’s Island Express.

So, May 29th 2018 is the date you need to worry about as that is exactly when Yoku will be rolling up onto Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.

If you don’t know what that means, then not only must you have been living under a rock for the past 6 months, but it also means you seriously need to get yourself filled in on all the details.

Yoku’s Island Express tells the tale of Yoku the dung beetle, who has arrived on Mokumana Island to take over the role of postmaster. He thinks he’s in for the easy life, ready to soak up the sun, delivering parcels on a tropical paradise!

But as is always in the world of gaming, things aren’t that easy and Yoku soon finds that an ancient island deity has been trapped in a restless sleep – and it’s all down to Yoku to traverse the island to help out those in need. He’ll be found doing this by using a unique blend of pinball mechanics, platforming and open world exploration, all as an amazing adventure begins to unfold with every flip and bump of the pint-sized protagonist.

With Mokumana Island coming alive thanks to some stunning hand painted visuals, it’ll be up to you to help Yoku out on his quest to rebuild the post-office and wake an old god from its slumber.

Yoku’s Island Express will be priced up at £15.99 / 19,99 € / $19.99, when it starts to roll on to Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC on the 29th May 2018. To celebrate the announcement, the guys have released a lovely looking developer diary which lets us get an insight into the wonderful creation and mechanics included.

Check it out and then ensure you get a purchase in come release day!
