We love Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield and aside from a slightly confusing narrative and short campaign, found it to be an extremely unique runner; one that everyone should play. Those thoughts hit home even more today as the game gets updated – for free – with the ‘Da Update’, um, update on Xbox and PC.
Rolling out today for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC players, with those on PS4, PS5 and Switch needing to hold tight just a little longer, Da Update adds a whole host of new ideas to Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield, with improvements made that have come about based on feedback of the original launch.
This means that, for free, Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield players will be able to discover new bonus levels, more music, a new endless mode and the introduction of leaderboards, letting you compete against the world for high scores.
The levels and story updates come about in hope of adding refinement and intrigue to the base game and when combined with a new post-credits ending, it should mean things are even more slicker than before.
You should also expect to discover an overhauled UI, graphical improvements (and this looked great first time around so we’re well up for seeing how this unfolds), more Achievements and Trophies and Xbox accessibility controller support.
“I’ve loved reading the reviews, feedback, and watching people enjoy the game since it was released less than a year ago,” said creator Neil Jones, also known as Aerial Knight. “Soon after the base game launched I started working on bug fixes and it quickly turned into much more. I decided that if I was going to update the game one more time, I was going to ‘Do the damn thing’! I’m excited to see the response when people get to dive into this new improved version of the game on Xbox and PC on February 15th and the PlayStation, Switch and mobile versions coming soon”.
If you’re unaware of what Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield is, then make sure you read our full review. Aside from that, it’s a run, jump and slider that takes you through a sinister, sci-fi version of Detroit as you follow the life of Wally. It looks, and plays, brilliantly.
The Da Update trailer you need is below. Give it a watch and if you haven’t yet picked up the game, the Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.
