We’ve already seen Classic Snake Adventures recently trying its hand at rejuvenating the concept of the old Snake mobile phone game, but now there’s another release hoping to breathe new life into the genre. Forget the snake though, for the mighty bus is the focal point in Snakeybus and it’s out on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
Developed by Stovetop Studios, Snakeybus is a wacky driving game with an arcade-y feel, in which your main mode of transport is a bus. The idea is to pick up passengers, deliver them to their destination and avoid crashing into anything. The catch is that the length of the bus will increase as you attempt to fulfil the objective and chase those high scores. It’s certainly going to be challenging, but the chilled out soundtrack hopes to ease any rising stress levels. Just prepare to boost, jump and generally act fast to divert the bus away from potential obstacles.
In a bid to keep proceedings fresh, there are 11 different maps to collect passengers on and you’ll be cruising around the likes of Paris, Miami and even a dorm room. The bus itself comes in various forms too, meaning you can unlock School, Party and Double Decker buses to perform your task in. To cap it off, Snakeybus offers not only a Classic mode, but also Endless, Time Race, and Aerial modes; so it appears there’s plenty of choice.
