Complete Kiryu’s Journey in Yakuza 6: The Song of Life on Xbox and Game Pass

Yakuza 6 Xbox

We’ve had in-clan fighting, bomb threats and more betrayals than you’ve likely had hot dinners, but now comes perhaps Kiryu’s most personal journey as Yakuza 6: The Song of Life arrives on Xbox and PC and available to subscribers through Xbox Game Pass.

Kiryu has once again found himself in prison following the events of Yakuza 5. Upon his release, his adopted daughter Haruka has gone missing. However, he quickly discovers Haruka has been hit by a car and now rests in a hospital. To follow the trail of breadcrumbs, Kiryu must once again return to the streets of Kamurocho, and visit the seaside town of Onomichi, a new location for the Yakuza series.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life utilises the power of the Dragon Engine – the same engine used for Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Yakuza: Like a Dragon – giving Kamurocho and Onomichi a new sense of immersion for players to fully explore. These cities feature all the side-activities fans have come to expect such as Clan Creator, karaoke, the SEGA arcades plus plenty of gorgeous looking food. There is also a lot more included in this iteration including: visiting the gym, unwinding at the cat café (which may need your helping finding the actual cats) or taking up spearfishing!

Yakuza 6 is also the only game in the entire franchise to feature full Japanese audio; every line in the game has been fully voiced. Who needs Duolingo?

The conclusion to Kiryu’s journey, Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is available to download straight away on Xbox, priced at £14.99. Any Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also be pleased to know that much like the rest of the series, Yakuza 6 is also included in the service. Stand by for our review very soon but for now, let us know in the comments if you are still yet to try this fantastic series.

But that’s not all and things get better still with the arrival of the Yakuza 6: Song of Life Clan Creator Card Bundle for £3.99. It is this which brings Siz Yakuza legends into the tower defense minigame found in Yakuza 6, giving access to six of the most powerful Super Super Rare cards. You’ll find you can play hands with Clan Creator Special Leader Daigo Dojima (SSR), Clan Creator Special Leader Goro Majima (SSR), Clan Creator Special Leader Kazuma Kiryu (SSR), Makoto Date Card (SSR), Clan Creator Special Leader Shun Akiyama (SSR) and Clan Creator Special Leader Taiga Saejima (SSR). Further to that the pack adds 100,000 yen to your game, 2 x Rainbow Bunds and Staminan Royale. Not bad for four quid eh!

Game description:

In Yakuza 6, Kazuma Kiryu will find out exactly how much people are willing to sacrifice for family – be those ties through blood or bond – when he investigates a series of shadowy events that involve the ones he holds closest to his heart. Fresh out of a three-year prison sentence, an older and weathered Kiryu comes to find out that his surrogate daughter, Haruka, has gone missing from the orphanage he looks after. From the unparalleled realism of the new setting of Onomichi, a beautiful, sleepy port town in Hiroshima Prefecture, to the latest evolution of Kamurocho, the biggest red-light district in Tokyo, Yakuza 6 is the ultimate iteration the game’s blend of gritty crime story, hyper-explosive combat, and all the vices and distractions those locales have to offer. Enter the “Dragon Engine” – Explore the world of Yakuza like never before. Devastating combos and bone-breaking Heat Actions make a return, but now the Dragon of Dojima can fill up a meter to engage Extreme Heat Mode. When activated, Kiryu glows blue and unleashes heavy-damage combos with his fists or any “tool” that’s close at hand.
