Can you help the District Crime Agency solve the cases that no one else wants to touch? The Murder Mystery Machine on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC should well be able to provide the answers you are looking for. Even if Scooby and Shaggy are nowhere to be seen.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC, Murder Mystery Machine unfortunately doesn’t allow us the chance to join Scoobs and the gang in solving the most tricky of mysteries. But what it does do is place us in the role of a proper private dick as we join two detectives who have been left to solve the cases that would be otherwise untouched.

It’s priced at £16.74 from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S and should you find yourself stumping up that cash will discover that Cassandra Clarke – the newest recruit – and the jaded Nate Houston are on hand to help you uncover the most mysterious of mysteries. With a series of interconnected crimes present, you’ll need to use both analytical and deduction skills to collect clues, chat/interrogate (delete as appropriate!) suspects and finally get to the truth of the matter.

If you’re down for a bit of the old detective work then you should find that Murder Mystery Machine is able to provide it. And if you’re a visitor to the Indie Arena Booth Online at Gamescom this year, you’ll find the game kicking around digitally, allowing visitors the chance to take in the demo and view some serious video assets.
Blazing Griffin Games who have created such an event are obviously well up for you checking out their game at the event. As too, we should suspect would be the publishing team of Microids.

Justin Alae-Carew, Co-Head of Blazing Griffin Games, said “It’s wonderful to be part of the Indie Arena Booth Online along with many talented indie creators! We’re very excited to have Murder Mystery Machine showcased at this event which coincides with the launch of the game on PC and consoles.  It is also a great opportunity for those attending the event to experience the game in a uniquely engaging and interactive way!”

The key features of the game include:

  • Explore detailed, isometric crime scenes, navigating perspectives to uncover new clues. Question suspects in the area, and find contradictions in evidence to catch them out. Can you tell apart the red herrings from the key to the case?
  • Gather walls of evidence from crime scenes, interviews with suspects, and forensic results. It’s up to you to keep your workspace organized so you don’t miss anything, and cut through to the real who, what, and why.
  • Enjoy a rich and immersive story inspired by film noir, written by film & TV professionals at BAFTA-winning production company Blazing Griffin. With complex characters and dark, pervasive settings, expect the unexpected as the scales of justice are tilted.

Should you need to know more, we’ll be sure to get a full review of Murder Mystery Machine on Xbox up and out there as soon as we can.

The trailer below should help too – give that a watch before you head to the digital store of your choosing and take home a download. You’ll find the game available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Game Description:

Murders, disappearances, conspiracies… Welcome to the District Crime Agency (DCA). On her first day at the DCA, fresh-faced rookie Cassandra Clarke, is teamed with a reluctant burnt-out detective, Nate Huston, to investigate the murder of a prominent politician. While all evidence points to a botched robbery, it soon entwines the two detectives into a complex, interconnected series of crimes that are anything but an open-and-shut case.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
