Divination is a new dark cyberpunked graphic novel on Xbox, Switch and PlayStation

-

divination game

Divination may be sold as a cyberpunk themed, dark graphic novel, but to us the most interesting part is the opportunity to become an all-seeing eye, living out the life of an enigmatic fortune teller.

Priced at £4.19 and available to purchase, download and play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch, Divination: Console Edition (to give the full name) is the latest to roll out of the Eastasiasoft stables. A game that has been put together by those at Mojiken, Divination sees you running through the world of a fortune teller, utilising runes and wotnot to help clients foresee their future.

It’s a game in which choice is front and centre as you give responses to what you are being asked. Those may be good, but they equally may be bad – whatever it is, it’s up to you to help dictate the future fortunes of those who come your way.

Key game features include:

  • Immerse yourself in a cyberpunk setting illustrated in dark graphic novel style!
  • Meet a variety of clients seeking answers, some human and some robotic.
  • Arrange runes in a variety of ways to make your predictions.
  • Engage in meaningful dialogue that presents real-world issues through a sci-fi lens.
  • Decide the fate of each character and the populace via interwoven cause-and-effect!
  • Witness your impact on the world through TV screens and news reports.

The small price tag immediately makes Divination a bit of a tempted, but we’re also still fully invested in the way of the cyberpunk too, even if the likes of Cyberpunk 2077 hit us hard. Whatever your reason for being interested in what Divination has to tell though matters little – just get over to the digital store of your choosing and grab the download you need. The Xbox Store will sort out Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players. It’s also on PlayStation and Switch.

You’ll find a review from us popping up fairly soon, as we tell you exactly what the future is able to hold.

Game Description:

Hear the stories of your clients, read their future in the runes and piece together the truth of a dying world! Trapped inside the room full of screens is a pair of hands that can predict the future. Ask a question and draw the runes, and these hands will unveil the forthcoming. This is the future you live in, a small world, a city full of uncertainty and doubt, violence and obsession. In a time when people have begun to reject life as an unwanted burden, they’ll have nothing to trust. They’ll come, they’ll seek, and you will give them answers. You are the Diviner, an enigmatic fortune teller using ancient runes to discern the future even as the technology of a cyberpunk metropolis surrounds you. Converse with your clients to learn their stories, then arrange the runes they’ve drawn to decide the responses you give them. Good or bad, these answers hold the power to stir the fate of humans and robots alike, to change the outcome of this tale in meaningful ways, to deal in death or help your clients avoid it. The decisions and consequences are grey, requiring your intuition as Diviner to bring an end to the madness of a despairing populace.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
