Having released to great review on Steam back in 2016, fans on other platforms have been impatiently waiting news of other releases. Well, five years later, Grim Dawn has today arrived on Xbox, and in the form of the Definitive Edition no less. Having sold over 7000000 copies on Steam, Xbox owners have a reason to be excited for Grim Dawn’s arrival.
Containing the Grim Dawn base game, along with The Crucible game mode, the Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods expansions, the version arriving on Xbox is a hefty one. But a welcome one too with over 180 quests to complete and a choice from nine different classes.
As players continue to look away from Blizzard and their ongoing ‘issues’, can Grim Dawn steer players away from Diablo and become the premier dungeon crawler action-RPG? All signs would initially point to yes.
Set in a high fantasy world loosely based on the Victorian era, players must delve into massive dungeons and defeat the countless foes. To the victor go the spoils though, with tons of loot to gather, weapons to forge and more loot to collect. Did we mention there was loot?
Grim Dawn is playable in multiplayer with up to four players online. Combine your strengths and decimate your enemies with dismemberments and blood splatters aplenty. Make sure your party don’t influence your choices though; a wrong decision can leave some factions more hostile to you than others. Get them on your good side though and take advantage with a variety of discounts and unique items.
