If you weren’t lucky enough to attend EGX, Gamescom or PAX West recently, then you would have missed out on the opportunity to go hands-on with the awesome looking Q.U.B.E. 2. Well fear not because Toxic Games have released footage of that exact demo.
Whilst the demo itself ran beautifully – just check out our article detailing the indie games that stole the EGX show for confirmation – it was obviously early work in progress. Focusing on an early section of the game, it introduced you to the functions of each coloured cube, and how the player has the power to decide which colours are placed on each block. It also gave us an insight into the beautifully realised and varied environments which have been promised.
With the game coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC in early 2018, Q.U.B.E. 2 puts players in the shoes of British archaeologist, Amelia Cross, on a beautiful yet mysterious alien planet. With the help of fellow survivor, Emma, Amelia must face the challenges of the Q.U.B.E. in the hope of finding a way back home. Q.U.B.E. 2 retains the shifting, environmental puzzles of the original but wraps the action around Amelia’s own intimate story and her quest for survival.
We can’t wait for it and after being wowed by the game at EGX, and having loved the original, have high hopes for what Q.U.B.E. 2 will bring. Don’t forget to check out our EGX articles – you may just find more details regarding Q.U.B.E. 2 on there as well!
Have a watch of the footage below and let us know what you think. Did you manage to get hands-on with Q.U.B.E. 2 at one of the recent shows? Can early 2018 not come soon enough for you? Comments in below would be hugely appreciated.
