Get the party started with Just Dance 2022

It’s as regular as FIFA, and switches things up pretty much as much as EA’s juggernaut does, but it’s now time to get the party started again as Ubisoft release Just Dance 2022 to the world.

You should know what to expect from Just Dance by now and the 2022 edition doesn’t really deviate too much from the norm. Not that that’s a bad thing, and over the years we’ve been pretty taken by what the franchise has been able to deliver.

Just Dance 2022 is playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and Google Stadia, for all players who have smartphone capabilities. You see, it is here – with the Just Dance Controller App – where the magic happens, connecting to your game and then being able to track your movements as you bop along.

Granted, we preferred things when Kinect was a viable option, but Ubisoft have honed the Controller App well enough for us to get by.

Priced at £49.99 from the Xbox Store and making the most of Smart Deliver so that you’ll be playing the optimum version of the game no matter whether you are on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S, Just Dance 2022, will let you show off your skills alone, or prove your style to others with cooperative modes. And yep, we reckon that’s where this comes alive.

As you’d expect to here, there are 40 new tracks available this time around (to go with the 700 odd available through the Just Dance Unlimited subscription service of which a free month trial is included with your game purchase), and these bring together everyone and everything, from Ciara to Imagine Dragons, to Katy Perry and Meghan Trainor. We’re sure there will be something for everyone, no matter what their musical tastes.

Sweat mode is in the house for those preferring to put some substance to their dancing, as are custom playlists which will let the player pick and choose as they see fit. Yes, Just Dance 2022 probably isn’t a massive upgrade over Just Dance 2021, and Just Dance 2020, or even heading back through years before that, but Ubisoft have hit on a decent formula and are running with it.

The full track listing runs as…

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
