Hit the birdies as The Golf Club 2 arrives on Xbox One, PS4 and PC

The original Golf Club made a mark back in 2014 as one of the best golfing titles available to the masses. With EA going through a bit of a rough patch, sitting a million miles from their stick swinging glory years, HB Studios’ procedurally generated course editor was the star of the show.

But now we are here in 2017 and The Golf Club is back, with the wonderfully named The Golf Club 2… at least if you are in North America. You see, that staggered release window is hitting us once more and whilst those residing in America can grab the game right now for $39.99, UK citizens will need to hold on tight, at least for just a few days to Friday 30th June.

Three years is a long time in the video gaming world and you can expect The Golf Club 2 to have built upon everything that the first game delivered. Front and centre of that is a full on career to take part in, whilst the addition of Societies allows you and your mates to get together in style. Not only will you find small local links courses in place, but you’ll need to use these to hone your golfing skills in order to climb the challenging tournaments included.

Of course, the Course Editor is back and will no doubt be more refined than previously, but to ensure there is plenty of golfing opportunities, will find that no less than 150,000 courses created in the original title are still playable in The Golf Club 2.

Our full review is on its way and should be with you in the coming days, but for now you’ll probably find the Xbox Games Store will be able to sort you out with a download. It’s cheap too – and if you’re quick, may well find yourself the recipient of some pre-order bonus content too. If you aren’t, then well, you’ll be needing to splash out extra for both the Social Elite and Rags to Riches DLC packs.
