HITMAN 2 confirmed with release date and trailer by Warner Bros and IO Interactive. Pre-orders now open!

The rumour mill has seen whispers of Hitman 2 passed from pillar to post in recent days and weeks, but now we’ve got confirmation from the horse’s mouth – HITMAN 2 is a thing!

In fact it’s more than just a ‘thing’, it’s a reality and Warner Bros and IO Interactive have today confirmed that Hitman 2 will be hitting Xbox One, PS4 and PC from 13th November 2018.

Following up on the highly acclaimed HITMAN, HITMAN 2 will come with entirely new hyper detailed sandboxes full of living breathing environments to explore. Giving players the freedom to plan and execute their ultimate assassination, expect to find a whole host of wonderful tools, weapons, disguises and stealth techniques available.

“We are thrilled to partner with IO Interactive on HITMAN™ 2 and bring the latest game in this iconic franchise to the passionate HITMAN™ fanbase and new players,” said David Haddad, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “IO Interactive has done a fantastic job with the Hitman franchise, and this new game will provide a distinct gameplay experience for players to be creative in larger sandbox locations.”

“We are very proud to announce HITMAN™ 2 as the next exciting chapter in our ever-expanding world of assassination. Building on the success of our previous game, HITMAN™ 2 introduces exciting new features, new modes and franchise firsts to make for a larger and richer game,” said Hakan Abrak, CEO, IO Interactive. “We couldn’t have wished for a better partner than Warner Bros. to bring this game to our passionate community and introduce new players to our universe. Welcome back 47!”

Taking place in a series of wonderful locales, HITMAN 2 will take you on a global adventure across a mix of arenas including a vibrant Miami setting with the colorful ambience of an in-progress motorsport race bringing a new backdrop to the series. From sun-drenched streets to dark and dangerous rainforests, each of these super intricate locations will provide multiple paths to discover.

With the ultimate spy thriller story continuing in HITMAN 2, your task as Agent 47 will be to hunt down the elusive Shadow Client and unravel his militia once and for all. But all is not what it seems and when 47 learns the hidden truth about his past, nothing will ever be the same.

Further to this, HITMAN 2 also introduces new ways to play with a Sniper Assassin mode. This is a standalone feature that brings a co-op experience to the Hitman series for the first time, giving two players the opportunity to work together online to take down their targets. Sniper Assassin can also be enjoyed in a single player mode for those who want to play as Agent 47.

Best of all is the fact that Sniper Assassin is available to play right now as an early access bonus for those who pre-order the HITMAN 2 Standard, Gold or Collector’s Edition. You can find the Standard Edition available for pre-order from all the usual spots right now (Microsoft Store will sort you out from £54.99), whilst the Gold Edition is available for pre-order now exclusively at GAME. The Collector’s Edition will be available for pre-order soon. Those taking up the Gold and Collector’s Editions will also find they get access 4 days early.
