train sim world 3 glossop line

Bet you thought Dovetail Games were done with expanding Train Sim World 3 when they gave the opportunity for players to travel through the Peak Forest? Well, think again – this time you’re going to Manchester with the Glossop Line.

Available to ensure that Train Sim World 3 continues to stay fresh and vibrant is the new Train Sim World 3: Glossop Line: Manchester – Hadfield & Glossop pack. As you may gather from the title, this one is all about Manchester’s iconic Glossop Line.

Priced at £19.99, the new Train Sim World 3: Glossop Line: Manchester – Hadfield & Glossop Line will see you with the chance to jump onboard the Class 323, kitted in Northern livery.

Manchester awaits

From there, the suburbs of Manchester await. The Glossop Line focuses on the modern movements of Manchester, the electric trains of Piccadilly Station at the fore.

Dinting Station is there too. Located next to the Dinting Viaduct of 1844, this splits the route with its triangle platform layout so that trains visit both Glossop and Hadfield. The driver must change ends before continuing their journey.

Intermediate stations, including Flowery Field and Broadbottom, are present as well, as are collectibles along the way. Expect to see Manchester’s bee mascot making an appearance along with some adorable flowerpots on the platforms.

It’s not just about travelling the tracks though. The Glossop Line also comes complete with two new features to explore, unique to this route. ‘On Guard’ and ‘Gossip Line’ Scenarios see players take up the role of the Guard and a Photographer, going along the train checking passenger tickets and travelling along the line snapping parts of the Glossop Line scenery.

Where and when can you get the Train Sim World 3: Glossop Line?

You’ll find the Train Sim World 3: Glossop Line: Manchester – Hadfield & Glossop Line on the Xbox Store. It’s playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It’s priced at £19.99. You’ll obviously need the base game of Train Sim World 3 to hand too.

You’ll also find it on PlayStation and PC.

Further, you can save 10% on Glossop Line if you own or purchase the Birmingham Cross-City Line pack.

DLC Description

The distinctive charm, of the BR Class 323 feels at home on the shuttling service of Manchester’s Glossop Line. Enjoy life aboard the Northern Trans Class 323 in a compact commuter package, keep on your feet as you constantly change ends, performing unique turnback procedures between Dinting, Hadfield and Glossop.

Rail aficionados know the Glossop Line as a remaining relic from the former Woodhead Line. Truncated at Hadfield, the old line was advanced for its day, featuring steam-era DC electrification, still somewhat present today in the form of older style gantries, albeit modified to support today’s AC technology. Enjoy what’s left of the Woodhead and its infrastructure, including the stations which are still served to this day.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
