We recently gave you details regarding the ‘Cloaked in Silence’ DLC for Metal Gear Online. Well good news, the content now has an arrival date.

Turning up on March 15th 2016 (that’s now!), Cloaked in Silence content will bring three new maps and a new playable character – Quiet, the legendary sniper with fast movement and an invisibility cloak.

The map features are as follows…

  • Coral Complex: A dedicated Motherbase environment, allowing players to access tall towers and use storage containers and other internal areas as cover for tactical advantage. Coral Complex mixes open areas and a myriad of hiding opportunities.
  • Rust Palace: Set within Afghanistan, the Rust Palace is a large multi-level building. The skeletal nature of the decrepit ruin means that cover is scarce, while the internal areas are rich in dusty rooms and high-up sniping positions.
  • Azure Mountain: An outdoor plain under Africa’s baking sky. A small cluster of buildings offers scant cover, with only derelict walls and occasional scrubland surrounding the massive rock known locally as the Cradle of Spirits.

But that’s not all as Metal Gear Online will also bring you a new ‘Survival’ game mode, albeit not until April 7th. It’ll give teams of players the chance to compete for the highest win streak in order to achieve huge rewards. Players will be able to try out the new maps for free in survival matches up to 10 times per week. The number of free attempts will then be reset every Tuesday during scheduled maintenance. If you like what you see, then it’ll no doubt tempt you in to a purchase of Cloaked in Silence as you’ll then get unlimited access to the new mode and the new maps.

Metal Gear Online comes as part of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. If you haven’t picked it up yet, then you really should. Our review tells you why.
