NASCAR Heat 3 October DLC arrives

If you like watching motor racing, then you probably like NASCAR. Similarly, if you like the chance to hit the circuit in video gaming terms, then NASCAR Heat 3 is certainly appealing. Whilst never up there with the likes of Forza, the NASCAR experience will always be a bit of a draw to many – perhaps that is how such a high price tag can be charged for the DLC packs. Supply and demand I guess!?!

Available right now is the October DLC pack for NASCAR Heat 3, coming in hot with a price tag of ÂŁ10.39. Now, that in itself may seem okay – after all, we’re used to seeing DLC drops arrive in varying price categories – but the monthly NASCAR packs don’t exactly bring a lot of content for the cash requested.

This time round we see no less than 43 paint schemes, including 10 from the NASCAR XFINITY Series and a further 9 from the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Of course, 43 is a decent number, but you must always take into consideration that these are ‘just’ paint scheme. Nothing more, nothing less.

Granted, the addition of 3 new Challenges may well sell the pack, whilst a bit of audio spotting from Alex Hayden is nice, but at the end of the day you’ll find yourself paying a considerable amount of cash for what equates to some skins.

If you wish to go down that route then by all means pay the Xbox Store a visit. But with a ÂŁ39.99 price hitting the base game, it’s not a cheap racer by any means. But hey, who are we to tell you what you can do with your money.

DLC Description:

The NASCAR Heat 3 October DLC includes 43 new paint schemes from the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, many of which are “Throwback” schemes. Also included are 10 schemes from the NASCAR XFINITY Series, 9 from the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, 3 new Challenges, and MRN announcer Alex Hayden spotter audio! Expect paint schemes like the following: MENCS: Kyle Larson, DC Solar Throwback Kyle Busch, Skittles Throwback NXS: Christopher Bell, Rheem Throwback Kevin Harvick, Hunt Brothers Pizza Throwback NCWTS: Johnny Sauter, ISM Connect (Patriotic) Grant Enfinger, CURB Records Plus many more!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
