It seems like the whole farming way of life is having something of a fine time in gaming circles. After all, you’ve got the Professional Farming and Farming Simulator titles providing life-like farming experiences across multiple platforms, delivering new features year on year and attempting to show gamers exactly what it’s like to work on a farm. But now there’s a newcomer to the ‘farming sim’ genre as SOEDESCO announce Real Farm Sim. Will this beat off the rest of the competition?
Announced today, Real Farm Sim will come to Xbox One, PS4 and PC in Q4 2017, with both digital and physical varieties arriving. There will also be Xbox One X, PS4 Pro and Nintendo Switch versions available soon as well.
It may seem like a bit of a turn in strategy for SOEDESCO, after all, they are probably best known in console circles for bringing Adam’s Venture and AereA to our lives, but adding a new genre to their portfolio is obviously no bad thing.
Hans van Brakel, Executive Manager at SOEDESCO on the choice of genre: “We noticed a lot of interest in the farming simulation genre, but we feel nobody’s really bringing anything new to the table. With Real Farm Sim, we want to improve the farming simulation experience with new-gen game mechanics and new-gen graphics. The game is called Real Farm Sim for a reason: it gives players the real farming experience.”
Real Farm Sim is being developed by Triangle Studios and we’ll no doubt have more details for you soon. For now though, fancy a trailer?
