Recruit Morbius as The Hunger DLC builds out Marvel’s Midnight Suns

Deadpool has rocked up for action and Venom has delivered his own unique brand of madness, but now it’s time for Morbius to be recruited into Marvel’s Midnight Suns, as The Hunger DLC becomes available.

The Hunger is the latest DLC drop for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, coming on the back of The Good, The Bad, and the Undead, as well as that of Redemption, available either as a single individual download, or as part of the Midnight Suns Season Pass.

Add The Hunger to your Marvel’s Midnight Suns base game for £11.99 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 or PC right now and you’ll find a new Hero – Morbius, obviously – some additional story beats, an Abbey upgrade and further Hero skins.

In The Hunger, Morbius, who inadvertently transformed himself into a bat-like being in an attempt to cure his rare disease, must join forces with the Midnight Suns to combat a vampyre threat sweeping across New York City. As if that wasn’t enough, Hydra has started infusing undead DNA into its toughest troops to create a squadron of transformed supersoldiers. Morbius had hoped to reverse-engineer their traits to create a serum that would let him withstand sunlight—but in the wrong hands, his research could make all of vampyre-kind unstoppable.

To gain access to Morbius you will need to complete his first story mission – Weird Science – with that kicking in after you takes in the Spidermaaaans mission. And once involved, you’re going to have a ton of fun.

In combat, Morbius is all about applying Bleed to enemies, and then capitalizing on that effect for increased damage. Similar to Captain Marvel, he can enter a “Bloodlust” state after using a few of his abilities, granting him Block and causing all of his damaging abilities to apply Bleed. While Blade is the master of distributing Bleed through Chain abilities, Morbius focuses more on increased single-target damage – try pairing the both of them and see how they really feed off each other! His “A Greater Hunger” Passive from building Friendship lowers the required amount of cards needed to activate Bloodlust.

Morbius’ unique Abbey Research project Laboratory allows the purchase of permanent modifications to a hero’s secondary stats, though these will always have a trade-off. Upgrading Laboratory increases the amount of stat options and their rarity.

Key features in summary include:

  • New Recruitable Hero: Morbius, a living vampire wielding 11 unique Hero Abilities
  • New Story Missions: Fight a host of fresh enemy types across challenging new encounters
  • New Abbey Upgrade: Laboratory
  • 3 Additional Hero Skins, 7 Abbey Outfits, and 2 Swimsuits for Morbius

If you haven’t yet played Marvel’s Midnight Suns then you really should be getting involved. We dropped a big 4.5/5 score on it when we reviewed the game on Xbox Series X|S at the back end of 2022, hyped by the exciting card-based action, the awesome roster of characters and the sheer amount of content to get involved with. There was little we didn’t like in actual fact, and would urge you to grab a download of the game from the Xbox Store right now.

You’ll find Marvel’s Midnight Suns on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.

DLC Description:

In an attempt to cure his rare disease, brilliant biochemist Dr. Michael Morbius inadvertently transformed himself into a bat-like being who unwillingly feeds on the blood of the living to survive. Now Morbius must join forces with the Midnight Suns to combat a vampyre threat sweeping across New York City in a series of new story missions. Completing these missions brings you one step closer to unlocking a bonus mission for those who own and complete all the DLC missions included in the Marvel’s Midnight Suns Season Pass. As if a vampyre outbreak wasn’t enough, Hydra has started infusing undead DNA into its toughest troops to create a squadron of transformed Super-Soldiers. Morbius had hoped to reverse-engineer their traits to create a serum that would let him withstand sunlight—but in the wrong hands, his research could make all of vampyre-kind unstoppable. Morbius is in good company with the Midnight Suns, having fought alongside Blade and Ghost Rider in the past. It’s time for Morbius to slake his bloodlust once more and help eradicate this new evil in the process.
