Just over a month ago – back at the start of September in fact – we heard that Ripstone Games were preparing to deliver a brand new poker title to both current and next gen consoles. Today they are confirming the release date of Poker Club on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC, promising cross-generational play for all.
Coming to Xbox and PlayStation consoles alongside a PC release (with a Nintendo Switch drop later down the line), Poker Club will slap the cards down on the table come November 19th 2020, leveraging the power of Unreal Engine 4 in the process.
Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC players will bear witness to the most immersive poker simulation yet, as Ripstone Games wield their might to provide a game that will wow on both current and next-gen systems.
Poker Club has been created to make the most of the power of the next-gen too. Boasting 4K visuals at 60fps, utilising advanced rendering techniques including hardware-accelerated ray tracing across Xbox Series X, PC and PlayStation 5, we’ll also find the game supporting free cross-gen purchasing on PS4 and PS5, with Xbox One and Xbox Series X owners being sorted via Smart Delivery.
“We’ve been working really hard to ensure that Poker Club is available for next-generation consoles at launch,” said Phil Gaskell of Ripstone Games. “It’s not been easy, but we are very proud to finally announce that we will achieve our goal, with Poker Club launching on November 19th for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This is the poker game we’ve always dreamed of and offers more modes and ways to play than anything else out there. We can’t wait for players to join us at the poker table this holiday season!”
Designed primarily as a social experience that bleeds in to the online community, Poker Club will feature tournaments for more than 200 players, will let card sharks join clubs to compete on leaderboards, bespoke tournaments and daily chip bonuses, and will provide the opportunity for all to unlock exclusive rewards as they play. Throw in the challenge of the PCC Poker Tour career mode, a host of back-room games and big money events running across single tables, multi-table formats, Freezeouts, Shootouts, Turbos, Super Turbos and more, and Poker Club looks set to have the lot.
It gets even more exciting when we hear that Ripstone are allowing full cross-platform and cross-generation play across PC, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, whilst those on PlayStation will be able to take to the table with others on both PS4 and PS5.Â
We’ll be sure to remind you when that November 19th 2020 release date of Poker Club arrives for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC players. For now though, give the initial announcement trailer another watch and then let us know your thoughts in the comments.
