Sniper Ghost Warrior 3: Basic Sniper Tactics – What you need to know

-

In just a few short months, gamers will finally have their chance to get hands on with one of the most anticipated first-person shooters of 2017, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, and today CI Games have given us a bit of a sniper overview.

But whilst we sit patiently in anticipation for what is set to be a fantastic adventure of stealth and finesse, CI Games have been hard at work to provide their fellow Ghost Warriors with everything they need to know before heading out into the field  – and we’ll need them if we wish to ensure we can get the most out of that trusty Sniper Rifle.

So here’s a quick overview of things you’ll need to pay attention to when the game arrives on Xbox One, PS4 and PC this April 4th 2017.

Scope Calibration

Before taking the vital shot, there are several factors to consider, and making the right choices can make all the difference to the success or failure of your mission.

Before pulling the trigger, those wanting to make a clean shot will want to check the distance to the target. When you know the distance, you can then adjust the scope elevation accordingly. This can help compensate bullet drop and ensure a higher chance of a clean hit.

Players of the previous titles in the series will know that wind can play a factor in bullet trajectory, therefore keeping an eye on the wind indicator at the top of the scope will help players to judge which way the bullet is likely to travel, helping you line up the perfect shot.
When everything is set up, remember to pull the trigger carefully to ensure you avoid breaking the shot, exhaling slowly can help with this.

Positioning

Whilst calibrating your Sniper for every shot will certainly set you on the right path, it isn’t the only thing to consider, and having the right position can be equally as important. One way to ensure you’re in the right place at the right time is to make the most of your surroundings. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 brings an open-world environment to the series for the first time, bringing a whole host of new options to the table when deciding where you’ll need to be to get a clear view of the target.

One thing to keep in mind is that it will be easier to aim at your target when crouched and easier still when prone, this will also help to keep visibility at a minimum and provide players with the best chance at success, so picking the right location is just as important as checking your sights.

When at a disadvantage in the field, lining up shots to hit several enemies at once can certainly ensure the odds are levelled, and if this means you find your enemies behind objects, make sure to use the special bullets in your arsenal to your advantage.

The Drone

Recon is critical for the planning and execution of missions, and having a firm knowledge of your enemy’s locations and possible vantage points can really help a soldier out in times of need. As such you’ll need to ensure proper use of your drone to gain a tactical overview of the mission area. The drone can also tag enemies as well as sabotage objects and enemy devices.

A good use of reconnaissance will expose weak points in enemy defences and allow you to take out your enemies and follow your strategies with deadly precision.

So there we have it, the best sniper tactics to put to use in the field of duty. Don’t forget to head to our YouTube channel to check out the accompanying trailer. To save you some time, we’ve got it shown right below.
