Those of us of a certain age remember the 1980s and 1990s fondly – at least we remember them once we get through the drink-fuelled haze. It was however back then when the shoot ’em up scene was very much at the forefront of gaming, as players got the opportunity to blast their way to success. It’s that which X-Force Genesis builds on as it releases on Xbox.

Available right now to purchase and download on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, X-Force Genesis is the latest little shmup affair to try and tempt in the players, giving you the chance to shoot off into space and destroy anything that gets in your way.

Priced at £5.79, this little love letter to the shmup scene should well be able to fulfil what gamers are looking for. It’s bright, it’s colourful and it’s full of insane boss battles – if there’s something else you need in your life, we’re not sure what it is.

We’ll be working a full review of X-Force Genesis on Xbox as soon as we can, but if you’re up for a new adventure and reckon the epicness of this is one to embark on, then fill your boots by hitting up the Xbox Store

Just don’t let the bad guys win. With the amount of weaponry on offer, we’re pretty sure that won’t ever happen. Huh?

Jump into the comments down below and let us know if the release of X-Force Genesis on Xbox is one that you are excited by. Failing that, we’re on the usual social channels too and would love to hear from you.

You’ll find the game on Steam and Nintendo Switch too.
