Ready for a storming good time? Tannenberg is coming to Xbox One and PS4 with the newly confirmed release date just a few weeks away.

Back in July of 2013 the teams at M2H and Blackmill Games got Greenlit on Steam for thier authentic squad-based WW1 first person shooter – Verdun. Fully launched in 2015, it then went on to launch initially in 2017 on Xbox One, before being remastered for Xbox One and PS4 in 2019, after which it was hit with multiple graphical improvements and huge amounts of new content. Now though it’s all about Tannenberg, the standalone expansion to Verdun – after being released from Steam Early Access back in Feb 2019, it’s now time for Xbox One and PS4 players to get in on the action, with a July 24th 2020 release date confirmed.

The next step in the authentic WW1 game series, Tannenberg comes to Xbox One and PS4 on July 24th 2020 offering frantic first person action on the Eastern Front of the First World War, running in stark contrast to that of Verdun which spent time depicting the Western Front. And not only will this allow console players to get access to the same game as that of PC players, a whole new map will also arrive. PC players need not worry though, that same day will see the map hit Steam too.

Delivering gameplay that focuses on the life of an infantry soldier on the WW1 Eastern Front as the Russian Empire goes up against the might of Germany, in Tannenberg you’ll be treated to authentic weapons, correct uniforms and battlefields that deliver the full experience of maneuver warfare.

This will mean you get the chance to choose from a variety of options, including histroically accurate squads and weaponry, with additional bits and pieces unlocked as you play. With each match you play promising to deliver on a base that has been put together through thorough research and extensive support, you should find that each one delivers a totally different experience, as the brutality of war takes hold.

Yep, Tannenberg will let you get more immersed in war than ever before, seeing you participate in 40 player battles, going out to capture key sectors and take down the enemy as you go. Multiple hardware elements will also be included, letting you utilise artillery, gas, heavy machine guns and more as you go for the victory.

The launch of Tannenberg on Xbox One and PS4 does however bring with it a whole new map – the Austro-Hungarian fortress of Przemyśl. Przemyśl. was the site of one of the longest sieges in the First World War and large fortifications make it a very different battlefield to those seen in other Tannenberg maps. Expect to bear witness to different terrain types from large forests, burnt out villages, mountain peaks, swamps and more.

To ensure that Tannenberg finds a place in the hearts of Xbox One and PS4 players, M2H have ensured the control schemes, visuals and performance have been optimized for console players, with that Maneuver mode featuring 40 player battles with up to 20 bots. You should also find that if you’re gaming with an Xbox One X or PS4 Pro then Tannenberg will meet all the usual standards.

Developer and M2H co-founder Mike Hergaarden says: “Following community feedback after the initial Verdun console release, we decided to handle all console versions of our titles in house – this started with the recent remaster of Verdun. This gave us valuable experience with optimizing the UI, graphics and controls for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and we got a lot of positive feedback from players. For the console version of Tannenberg we built it ourselves from the start.”

We’ll be sure to remind you when Tannenberg hits home on Xbox One and PS4 come July 24th. We’ll no doubt have a little review around that time too. For now though, take in the immersion of the announcement trailer below.
