TerraTech delivers the payload to Xbox One, PS4 and PC adventurers this summer

-

Best of 2025

TerraTech has been sat in Steam Early Access for more than 4 years already, regularly doing the rounds at game shows and gathering feedback from gamers around the globe. Today though the small British indie developers at Payload Studios have decided it is as good a time as any to take the next step – full release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

A creative sandbox, physics-based, survival adventure, TerraTech is set to leave the confines of Steam Early Access to hit the big time with a release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in Summer 2018.

A game which focuses fully on giving players the opportunity to design and create their own ideas, through a mix of crafting, combat and discovery, you’ll find adventure in a future world in which Earth’s resources have been depleted. It’ll be up to you to choose whether you wish to explore an uncharted alien landscape to forage, fight and craft, or simply build and explore without the threat of enemies in Creative Mode.

After 4 years in Early Access, gamers on all platforms will find that on release the game will bring a wide variety of brand new features, developed with ultimate creativity and player satisfaction in mind, with the feedback of a vibrant, dedicated and ever-expanding community of players helping push TerraTech along every step of the way

An added bonus will see PC players able to try out the brand new multiplayer mode, which features up to 16-players in free-for-all and team-deathmatch modes, from May 18th.

Payload Studios founder Russ Clarke said: “This summer’s multi-platform launch of TerraTech is a huge milestone for the game, and the team. It’s been a long road to this point, and we’ve been blown away by the support and enthusiasm of our wonderful community of players. Their dedication has contributed hugely to the quality and depth of experience which we are now tremendously excited to bring to a wider audience”

But whilst you may think that the Summer 2018 release will see massive weight lifted from the Payload shoulders, there have been promises made that the game will continue to evolve after launch, receiving frequent updates and new features, engaging players for a long time to come.

As soon as we have a fully confirmed release date, we’ll bring it to you.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
