The auto-shooting REMEDIUM: Sentinels on Xbox looks to blast away Vampire Survivors

There can be only one king of the auto-shooting genre, and that king is most definitely Vampire Survivors. But that doesn’t mean there can’t be challengers to the crown. REMEDIUM: Sentinels on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC is the latest to give things a crack.

Auto-shooting joys

An auto-shooter that is looking to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Vampire Survivors, the recently released Mighty Mage and more is REMEDIUM: Sentinels. Coming to the lands of Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC (after an Early Access period for the latter), if you want to shoot like you’ve never shot before, REMEDIUM: Sentinels may well deliver.

It comes from the Sobaka Studio and ESDigital Games teams, as they take what has been honed through Early Access and push out a 1.0 version to the world. What that means is REMEDIUM: Sentinels will deliver on the roguelite front, going guns ablazing with new features too. For instance, this full release is promised to have more weapons, enemies, bosses and maps than before.

REMEDIUM: Sentinels on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S is priced at £3.99. The game is also on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC. It’s the Xbox Store that is our friend though.

Make the most of your Sentinel

Grab a download from there and you’ll find the chance to take charge of a Sentinel. The clue is pretty much in the name, with the game set in the same world as REMEDIUM. This time around, a hundred years have passed since the Grey Plague, with just a few left standing. It’s these folk – and their cities – that you need to help defend. Taking on hordes of foes will be the main objective, holding out until the death of a reactor.

You’ll certainly have the tools to help though. Your Sentinel is well armed, coming in various guises. It’s with this which you’ll get to utilise multiple items and elements, creating unique builds on the way. It all promises to come together to deliver a decent auto-shooting alternative.

“REMEDIUM: Sentinels is a love letter to the iconic bullet-hell styled gameplay,” said the Sobaka Studio development team. “Both PC and the console communities will experience its fast and frenzied gameplay, massive over-the-top weapons, and punishingly fearsome foes!”

REMEDIUM: Sentinels on Xbox is available now

We’ll let you know how REMEDIUM: Sentinels plays on Xbox. With a full review on the horizon, you’d do well to grab a download from the Xbox Store

REMEDIUM: Sentinels on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC (Steam) could well have enough to take it to Vampire Survivors. Let us know what you think. The comments are below.

Game Description

REMEDIUM: Sentinels is a roguelite fast-paced auto-shooter that is set in the same world as REMEDIUM game. It has been more than a hundred years since the Grey Plague has won turning most humans into vicious mutant freaks, and only a handful of cities still stand amidst the death and chaos that consumed the land.

You control a Sentinel created by alchemists with only one goal – defend the cities against the endless hordes of mutants until your reactor dies. Combine items and alchemical elements to acquire more and more weapons and create unique builds!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
