Outcast A New Beginning is on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC

The Outcast franchise has had a weird run. The original game launched way back in 1999, remade in 2017 as Outcast: Second Contact. Now comes the sequel as Outcast – A New Beginning looks to become a cult classic on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.

Outcast is back!

Available to purchase, download and play right now is Outcast – A New Beginning. It comes from the original developers, Appeal Studios, as they join forces with THQ Nordic to drop players into the boots of Cutter Slade. Slade rocks up on the alien world of Adelpha; a world that he needs to save. Again.

Outcast – A New Beginning runs a fairly hefty price tag at £58.99 on the Xbox Store. It is however fully optimised for Xbox Series X|S, exclusive away from Xbox One. You’ll also find the game on PlayStation 5 and PC should you prefer those formats.

That price tag may well be warranted though. And that’s because that Appeal Studios team have looked to create a fascinating world that is not just full of danger, but full of adventure too. And there’s no doubt that Slade doesn’t have the tools for that adventure either – a jetpack is front and centre, as is an air-dash, glide and more.

With multiple modules available for weapon creation, a non-linear world to take in and an epic soundtrack accompanying a neat story, hopes are extremely high for this one.

Key features to consider

In fact, should you drop into Adelpha, you’ll find the opportunity to do all of the following…

  • Use your jetpack to jump, air-dash, glide, and quickly traverse the fantastic in-game open world
  • Combine dozens of different modules to create your own personal weapon for taking down the robot invaders
  • Have total control to approach the story at your own pace in this non-linear world
  • Explore the world without boundaries, discover hidden temples and dangerous wildlife
  • Get familiar with the Talan culture while helping them free their villages and gain access to ancient Talan powers that use forces of nature to destroy your enemies

Buy now!

Outcast – A New Beginning is on the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox Series X|S. Go and grab a download from there right now.

Alternatively, you can purchase Outcast – A New Beginning on PlayStation 5 or PC (Steam).

Further to that is the Outcast – A New Beginning – Adelpha Edition. On Xbox, this comes in at a super cool £179.99, but then it is limited to just 5000 units, and comes with a 24cm SAÏ statue, 50-page hardcover artbook, 3-disc Soundtrack, exclusive Steelbook and your copy of Outcast – A New Beginning game! Grab that from Amazon if you’re feeling flush

Outcast – A New Beginning Description

20 years after the award-winning action adventure hit, Outcast, pioneered the genre of non-linear open-world games, the long-awaited sequel sees Cutter Slade return to the spectacular alien world of Adelpha. Resurrected by the almighty Yods, he has returned to find the Talans enslaved, the world stripped of its natural resources, and his own past intertwining with the invading robot forces. It’s up to him to go on a mission and save the planet again.

The original team behind Outcast 1 has reunited to create this fascinating world, full of dangerous creatures and home to the Talan people – an ancient culture whose fate has become inextricably linked with earth since the events of the first game. You play as Cutter Slade, ex-Navy SEAL, sporting the same dry wit he had back in the 90s – however, the world around him has changed and eventually, so will he.
