The Visual Novel scene is alive and thriving, with near weekly new drops filling out the genre. Today we learn that those wishing to kick back with a Visual Novel on Xbox will soon be well catered for, as Milky Way Prince – The Vampire Star looks set to break out of the PC scene and drop onto console.

Coming from the Santa Ragione development team, and pushed to console by those at Fantastico Studios, Milky Way Prince – The Vampire Star is an intense affair, but it’s also award winning, dealing with a host of hard hitting subjects – abusive relationships, idealization and intimacy.

It’s due to launch onto Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S come June 21st 2022 (and we believe Switch and PlayStation too), and it’s about at that point that players will be able to take in the narrative that it holds. You’ll be found living through a summer of dysfunctional love through branching storylines, twists, sudden changes, and a special mechanic where you choose which senses to use with your boyfriend. You will learn about him, his personality, and his past, making you question everything in these moments.

As it makes launch on console, Milky Way Prince – The Vampire Star will be improved with new, console exclusive features. These come in the form of highres artworks, HD rumbles on compatible platforms, fully native versions for the new-gen consoles of Xbox Series X|S and PS5, 120fps and controller sounds – at least if you’ve got a PS5 DualSense or whatever it’s called.

We’ll be sure to remind you when that launch occurs on June 21st, but in the meantime, take in the launch trailer below. Let us know if this autobiographical Visual Novel which focuses on a dysfunctional LGBTQ relationship is going to be one you take in. The comments are below.

If you can’t wait, go and grab it from Steam on PC.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
