2026's Best Games

Much like with the slew of Ratalaika Games titles that arrive on Xbox, you pretty much know what to expect from a KEMCO title – a fantastical magic-fuelled RPG styled experience that deals with turn-based battling and a host of oddities and tons of weirdness. With that in mind, we’re massively excited as Alphadia Genesis 2 launches on Xbox and PC.

Available right now from the Xbox Store (£12.49) and Steam, Alphadia Genesis 2 is playable to all on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (fully optimised!), and Windows 10/Steam, following on from the launch of the original game back in July 2020.

This time around the KEMCO madness focuses on how the Empire has waged a battle attacks against the Atramian folk, mostly as they are said to be filled with black energi and are seen as a threat to the existence of the world. The thing is, as with many KEMCO experiences, that may not necessarily be true – yet only by heading through this story of sacrifice, revenge and hope will you ever find the truth. Or the twists in that truth. There are sure to be twists.

With the usual KEMCO fare rolling out from there – boosts, specialist skills, orbs, class types and more – there is pretty much everything required of a fully functioning RPG.

Key features include:

  • What is the true face of justice? Find it out in an RPG full of drama and hope!
  • Boosts can be applied to increase hit count and strength in turn-based battles with dynamic motions
  • Individual special skills which quickly turn the tide of battle in the party’s favor
  • Job orbs, which include fighter, healer, knight, and mage to learn, and handle various energi!
  • Many more elements such as subquests, battle arena and what is necessary for a full-fledged RPG!

Our full review of Alphadia Genesis 2 on Xbox Series X|S will be along shortly, giving insight into the world that it contains. We’re pretty much veterans of the whole KEMCO stable though, and are pretty sure this will deliver on its promises.

If you wish to grab a copy of the game for yourself, the Xbox Store, the Steam page and the Windows 10 Store will sort you out. Let us know in the comments if you decide to pick it up.

Game Description:

While claiming to protect its citizens, the Empire has launched a ruthless campaign against the Atramian population—those said to be infected with black energi and whose existence they deem to be a threat to the world. Discover the true face of evil in this next chapter of the Alphadia series, a story filled with belief, sacrifice, revenge, and ultimately hope! Boosts can be applied to increase hit count and strength in turn-based battles with dynamic motions. Individual special skills can, in exchange for boost slots, quickly turn the tide of battle in the party’s favor. Use the job orbs, which include fighter, healer, knight, and mage to learn, and handle various energi! The game offers many more elements such as subquests, battle arena and what is necessary for a full-fledged RPG!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
