The wonderful world of Stonefly awaits console and PC players

Stonefly Campsite

There are times when you want to do nothing more than kick back and relax (this Friday afternoon being one of those times). And that is where the team at Flight School Studio look to come in with their chilled action adventure, Stonefly.

Coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC in the summer, Stonefly works as the follow up to Flight School’s previous offering – the much loved Creature in the Well. When it releases on console and PC this summer though, you should be prepared for an adventure like no other, one that takes you on a journey deep into the heart of nature. It’s just this journey, will be a mech journey.

Promising the chance for self-discovery, Stonefly will see you heading off through an enchanted forest, as you attempt to work out why and where you belong. With publication rights being handled by those at MVM Interactive, and an artstyle that has been inspired by mid-century modern design and nature, this is certainly looking like one not to miss.

It covers a coming of age tale, one in which you’ll find Annika on a quest to recover a lost family heirloom. This will happen by inventing and crafting a Mech for use as she looks to harvest new materials from the land around. With confrontations with numerous bugs and characters, only by helping Annika out will she ever find the strength from within and be able to embrace her legacy.

Flight School Studio creates games that captivate players, which is evident by how much people loved Creature in the Well for its satisfying gameplay and unique approach to the hack-and-slash and dungeon crawler genres,” said Ethan Stearns, executive vice president of MWM Interactive. “We’re excited to work with them again and bring Stonefly to players across the globe. The game offers players an entertaining adventure set in a stunning world that Flight School Studio meticulously crafted, and speaks to the team’s ability to elevate games and storytelling through their incredible artistry.”

The trailer below gives a full insight into the workings of Stonefly. Check it out and then hold tight for that summer launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
