There’s an imposter Among Us, as the hit title launches on Xbox, Game Pass & PlayStation

If you were anywhere near the Internet during the back-end of 2020, the chances are you would have heard of, and likely played, the massively popular Among Us when it was available on mobile and PC. It perfectly encapsulated everything we came to love last year: chatting with friends over the virtual realm; isolation on a deserted land, and of course pointing the blame at anyone you could! Now Among Us is making its way over to console and Game Pass.

Releasing on Xbox One, Series X|S, PS4 and PS5 – with the game available on so many platforms (mobile, PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Switch), there is now no reason for one to hop on for a few rounds of chaos.

If you aren’t up to date with Among Us, it involves up to 15 players contained on a map, and each being given a role. As a Crewmate, you must simply complete all of your tasks, that can be actioned by a few button presses – if every Crewmate completes their tasks, victory is yours. Updates to the game in recent times have added new layers to the Crewmate role, as some can have additional abilities – the Scientist, for example, can check the vitals of all players at any time. Why may that be needed, you ask? Well, it is the role of the Imposter to blend in amongst the Crewmates, but kill them when nobody else is looking. When a dead body is found, all players come together to discuss who the Imposter (or Imposters) may be. If the Imposters kill enough players, it is they who take the W.

Despite the variety of maps and roles, it is truly the company you have that makes rounds of Among Us so addictive, so drum up as many friends as you can ahead of playing.

It’s worth keeping in mind that the base game comes in at £4.19 on Xbox, and is also available on Game Pass with full crossplay between Xbox, mobile and PC players.

On Xbox, PlayStation and Switch, Among Us is also releasing with the Crewmate Edition package. Coming in at £27.99, this comes with the base game, all DLC cosmetic items, and some real-life goodies, all of which can be found below:

The Among Us: Crewmate Edition includes:

  • Among Us base game and all DLC items: Airship, Polus and MIRA HQ Skins, along with the Hamster Pet, Bedcrab Pet, Brainslug Pet, Stickmin Pet and Mini Crewmate bundles
  • Retail Exclusive Downloadable Content

Look out for our full review of Among Us on Xbox soon enough, and if you fancy picking up the game for yourself, the page on the Xbox Store will do the trick.

Game Description:

Play with 4-15 players online or via local WiFi as you attempt to prepare your spaceship for departure, but beware as one or more random players among the Crew are Impostors bent on killing everyone! Originally created as a party game, we recommend playing with friends at a LAN party or online using voice chat. Enjoy cross-platform play between mobile and PC.

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
