The world of gaming is heating up as a number of big hitters are gearing up for release in the coming months. There are even four fairly high profile Xbox One games heading to retail this week, catering for the co-op adventurers, fighting enthusiasts and football fanatics. So, let’s take a look at what exactly is ‘In Stores This Week’ for Xbox One.

Strange Brigade – 28th August – Xbox One

Four heroes are embarking on an adventure in Egypt, traversing through the most exotic parts of the land, where ancient creatures just so happen to lurk in the shadows. The Witch Queen has risen from the dead to command an army of monstrosities that are hell-bent on terrorising anyone they encounter. You must fight back against this evil alongside up to three friends in online co-op, surviving treacherous traps, solving puzzles and defeating the hordes along the way. Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 – 30th August – Xbox One

Battling out with FIFA every year, Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 (PES 2019) is the latest instalment having to raise its game to be a worthy challenger. The new gameplay features include visible fatigue, which will impact the behaviour of opponents that are tough to open up, whilst new shooting mechanics take into account the improved ball physics, player and ball position, as well as individual player skills and shot styles. Most of the returning modes have been enhanced too, with Master League boasting improved negotiations and myClub seeing the inclusion of players whose overall ratings change depending on how they played in the real world. Will PES claim the crown this year?

Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker – 31st August – Xbox One

Don’t worry, for it’s not another football game. Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker is a 4v4 fighting game, focused mainly on the online multiplayer side of things and features a selection of well-known characters from the Naruto universe (the likes of Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura etc.), as well as presenting the option to create your own custom ninja too. To be the greatest Shinobi in the numerous battle mode types, you’ll not only have to take advantage of the verticality of the large 3D environments, but also ensure your team has a good balance of Ninjutsu styles which complement each other; with a choice of Attack, Ranged, Defense and Heal type characters. Will you rise to the challenge and lead your team to glory?

Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition – 31st August – Xbox One

One of the most expansive and immersive RPG experiences is almost here in the form of Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition. The Divine is dead and the Void approaches. It’s time for you to choose wisely and trust sparingly as darkness lurks within every heart in the world of Rivellon. Here, you can be an Undead being, a Lizard, or even an Elf if you so wish, with six classes in total. Pick your class, each with their own unique backgrounds, before getting a party together and building relationships with your companions. Then it’s off to blast your opponents in some deep, tactical, turn-based combat, whilst using the environment to your advantage and manipulating the elements themselves, all in order to seal your victory. The battle for Divinity has begun.
