When we first heard that the iconic Hot Wheels franchise would be getting its very own fast-paced racer, we dreamt of hitting the straights whilst behind the wheel of Bad to the Blade and nailing the apexes with Twin Mill. Today though we get to jump into Barbie’s Dream Camper. We never ever thought those dreams would become reality.
Available to purchase, download and add into Hot Wheels Unleashed right this very moment are no less than five new DLC offerings for the game.
It goes without saying that the introduction of Barbie’s Dream Camper as a serious racer is the headline act here and if you have ever wondered what it would be like to grab the wheel of the iconic pink machine, now is the opportunity to find out for real.
It’s a campervan and it’s pink, so you shouldn’t really expect too much from what Barbie’s daily runaround is able to deliver, but we’re guessing that this has been infused with some good old Hot Wheels venom and that should in turn ensure this is a viable race machine for even the most hardened of racers.
You’ll find Barbie’s Dream Camper kicking around on the digital storefronts for £1.69, but it’s also present in the Hot Wheels Unleashed Pass Vol 1.
There are other options which run the same lines too. We’ve got the arrival of AcceleRacers Bassline for £0.79, so if you are looking to turn up the volume and wish for your opponents to feel the power of the bass, this is one to consider.
And then there are three further customisation options opening up, away from the cars. The Holiday Season Customisation Pack will cost £0.79 and adds in some Christmas bling to you basement, whilst the Dinopult Module adds a huge Jurassic World styled beast to the racetracks of your imagination. There’s a new Spinning Tyre Module too, should you be looking for something more in theme with the Hot Wheels brand. Each of these will set you back £2.49.
With the Hot Wheels Unleashed base game in your digital library (whether that be on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch or PC), you’re good to hit the go button on any of these new additions. Let us know what you decide to pick up.
And if they don’t suit, you could always consider the Batman themed gear, the DC Super-Villains stuff or even get your spy on with the James Bond content. This is a game that’s going to keep evolving over time.
