Forza Horizon 5 Weekly Challenges Guide – Series 5 – Autumn

-

Mexico’s wet Summer season has passed us by and Forza Horizon 5 players now find access to the stormy Autumn months. With Series 5 – Autumn of the weekly challenges upon us, anything could happen. Thank god then that we’ve got you set up, giving all the hints, tips and, most importantly, the car tunes you need to help you succeed in Series 5 Autumn’s challenges.

Again the Horizon Rush Takeover vibe hits home for Autumn, with new PR Stunts to enjoy. These come in the form of Drift Zones, Speed Traps, Danger Signs and Trail Blazers, with many different rewards on offer. There’s a bit of a Treasure Hunt to take down too, a Photo Challenge which requests you to #WINGIT, and more collectibles than you can shake a cacti at.

Part 1 – The Weekly Challenge – Bubble Trouble

This week we are going to have to find, buy and drive a truly ridiculous little car.

Chapter 1 – Bubble Bath

Own and drive the 1957 BMW Isetta 300 Export.

Now, if you have been diligently going through the manufacturers and buying all of the cars, you may already own this, but if not, 45,000 of your finest credits will buy it from the Autoshow.

This was one of the few cars I hadn’t already taken a picture of for the Horizon Promo, so grab a snap if you are in the same boat. Then, take it for a spin!

Chapter 2 – Micro Machine

This next one may be a challenge – keep the car stock, and then hit 55mph on any speed trap. Maybe we can find one on a downhill slope? I used the Autopista speed trap, on the main highway, and approached from the east as coming from the west involves climbing a slight gradient which puts the little engine all out of ideas.

Chapter 3 – Multi-Tasking

Finally, time to upgrade.

We have to make the little car quicker, then earn four stars from any kind of PR stunt. And I don’t know about you, but little car and low weight suggests that it should be good at Danger signs, no?

My tune for the car is a little bonkers, frankly, going from 13BHP to 668 BHP, and setup for offroad driving too.

I tried the Metal BIrd danger sign, and knocked out four stars in two runs. The share code is: 547023600.

It is almost undrivable, however!

Chapter 4 – Small Wonder

If I’d have known this was coming, I probably would have still done the same to be honest. Earn two stars at any Danger Sign!

Well, another run at Metal Bird won’t hurt, will it?

And with that, the weekly car challenge is complete, and you can rest secure in the knowledge that you’ll never have to drive this little thing again.

Part 2 – Seasonal Championships

Apart from the Trial, the weekly contest against Unbeatable Drivatars (Spoiler Alert : They aren’t), it appears that the racing is taking a backseat this time around. Instead, we have a plethora of PR Stunts to hit!

Part 3 – Weekly Challenges

Challenge 1 – Eventlab – Guerrilla Jet Presents

This event is limited to Sports Utility Heroes, Class A 800. Whether an SUV can be a hero is still up for debate, but I used my Bentley Bentayga (surely a strong competitor in the Worlds Ugliest Car competition) whose share code is: 118484657.

This is a race from hell, with tight and obstacle strewn corners, and honestly I didn’t enjoy it.

I hope there is a special circle of hell reserved for the people that come up with these tracks, where they are forced to race their own creations over and over again for eternity.

A Green Pinata Head will nicely complement the Green Pinata Suit that you won last week.

Challenge 2 – Seasonal Playground Games – Jeep Thrills

Ah, the temptation to play the Playground Games playlist is back, and this time you have to use a Jeep vehicle, limited to A Class 800. I chose the Jeep Trailcat, because it is so green!

The share code for my car is 118411445, and will see you right in the games to come.

Sadly, the prize is apparently one of the worst cars ever made, but hey, don’t blame me!

Your reward here will be the AMC Gremlin.

Challenge 3 – Speed Trap – Pantano Pass

We have to hit 110 MPH through the Pantano Pass speed trap. Sounds easy enough, right?

Well, it is a little more complicated than that, as we have to do it in a Chevrolet limited to C Class 600. Now, C Class cars are not famed for their turn of speed, so I tried to build something that can do it, and chose the Camaro Super Sport Coupe from 1969, as there a lot of tuning room left in it.

A smidge of AWD, a bit of lightening and the resulting share code is: 111544579.

Approaching from the west seemed to give the best chance at doing this, and I was able to hit 116 mph on my first try. Just look out for traffic!

We’re not totally sold on the reward of a Black Speed Trap Tee for completing this one, but at least it’ll help us with the points needed to earn the Autumn and Series 5 car rewards.

Challenge 4 – Drift Zone – Arbolada

Right up my alley, this challenge.

Take a Drift car (i.e. any of the Formula Drift vehicles) and get sideways.

My personal favourite of the Formula Drift cars is the Mk IV Supra, as it just seems to drift without any help, and best of all, stock trim is perfectly fine for this event. Although, the drift car we won last week will also smash this out the park, so pick your poison.

We need to hit the Arbolada Drift Zone, and score over 75,000 points to win the challenge. Easy as drifting off to sleep. I hit 168K on my first run, and as the 3 star for a regular zone is only 100K, it is easy enough to tick this drift zone off your list.

The #88 RTR Mustang will pop up in your garage should you show enough skills.

Challenge 5 – Danger Sign – San Juan Jump

We need to fly again, this time in a UTV tuned to a Maximum of A Class 800.

The San Juan jump is pretty spectacular, soaring over a ruined church, so let’s try not to add to the damage by crashing a car into it, eh?

My car of choice was the Maverick X RS Turbo R by Can Am, and the tune share code is: 540153665.

Approaching from the south over open country gave the best run up, and I sailed past the required 91 M with ease.

Again, another Tee is yours for jumping far – the Black Danger Sign Tee, no less. Great.

Challenge 6 – Speed Zone – Camino Del Cielo

A speed zone, in a Rods and Customs class car? At an average speed of over 105 MPH? Sounds like a tall order, but luckily I came up with a cunning plan!

Take a pretty fast car to begin with, in the shape of the Hoonigan Bel Air, and then tune it up to make it better, to the max of A Class 800. The share code for my tune is: 536315599. There are a couple of nasty bends in this speed zone, but braking will see you right, as long as you hit the start of the zone at a decent speed. Approaching from the west made it seem a little bit easier, and I nailed 108MPH on my first try.

Cross your fingers and hope that the Wheelspin you receive on the back of this is a good one.

Challenge 7 – Trail Blazer – Jungle Traversal

Last but not least is the obligatory Trailblazer, and it’s a new one, that of Jungle Traversal this week.

We need to hit the finish line with more than 2 seconds on the clock, and do it in an off-road vehicle limited to a B Class 700. I chose the Ford Ranger T6 Rally Raid car from 2014, as if I’m going to off road, I might as well do it in something custom built.

The share code is: 166960440.

The main problem is trees, and where the river flows, the trees aren’t too much of an issue, but the water slows you down. All in all, I’d say this is the hardest challenge this week, and only practice will teach you the best route. Sorry I can’t be more help, but the car at least should see you right.

Another Wheelspin? Oh, go on then.

Part 4 – Other Challenges

Need something to keep you busy away from the madness of the racing? Series 5 – Autumn covers every angle with a Treasure Hunt, a Photo Challenge, a Collectible hunt and one-off Horizon Open drift event.

Treasure Hunt – Incey Wincey Spyder

Now, the clue is in the name here, and we need a car with the word “Spyder” in its name, and the spelling is the clue. The Porsche 918 Spyder is the car that we need.

The clue says “See the stars by taking your spyder for a high jump, but beware of the river, we don’t want to wash the spyder out”.

Now, there’s a new Danger sign that has you jumping over a river, and the name is Salto de Rio. The 3 star distance is 128 metres, and there is an inconvenient house on the far bank, so be careful on the run up.

The treasure chest itself spawns at the Sierra Verde Dam, on a jetty over the water.

As is the norm, hunting down this treasure will reward you with 50,000 CR.

Photo Challenge – #WINGIT

As we were using it earlier in the Isetta challenge, we need to go back to the Metal Bird danger sign, this time in a shiny Zenvo TSR-S from 2019 and take a picture. The slight issue is that the Zenvo is a rather eye watering 1.2 MILLION credits to buy…

What’s the only thing that’s worse than a Tee as a reward? Yep, a damn Forza Link phrase. But it’s that which is on offer here, allowing you to express to the world how ‘This is Fine’. At least it’ll come in useful when some randomer sticks you into the side of a house.

Horizon Open – Drift King

Fairly easy, you need to head to the Forza Open Drifting event, take part in some races, and earn a total of 50 drift skills. This should be fairly easy as the amount of drifting you need to do, and the lack of collisions with other drivers, makes this pretty much straightforward.

To paraphrase Dory, “Just keep driftin’!”

Another Forza Link phrase is all you’ll grab here. At least you can be pretty to be a Driftacular driver.

Collectibles – Tank You!

This time around, it’s another of the Forza Horizon Arcade events you need to complete, but this time it’s the “Wreckage” events you need to look out for.

In these events, there are rounds where you have to go to a certain area and smash pinata, of which there are two flavours. Stay away from the cactus pinatas, and smash the pink petrol pump shaped ones to win this reward, and the magic number is 10 this time around.

Of course, up to 60 Forzathon points are up for grabs too, so it can be worth your while if you have your eye on a car!

It’s like the Forza gods have forgotten what a decent reward is, but once more this one will provide you with further opportunity to show your love to the world with the ‘Tanks for the memories’ Forza Link. Again, useful when that house fast appears on the scene.

Aside from the Monthly Rivals Lookout Circuit test that you should have already completed, that’s about it for Forza Horizon 5’s Series 5 – Autumn challenges. Again, taking down the PR Stunts should mean this is a fairly simple completion, with the points you earn from each event (and the Daily Challenges that pop up) allowing you to add the Rare Toyota 4Runner (20pts) and Legendary Ferrari FXX K (40pts) to your garage. It’ll also help you move slowly towards the Series 5 rewards too – the Forza Edition, highly exclusive, Mini ‘65 FE (80pts) and the equally valuable, Legendary Porsche 917 LH (160pts).

Winter of Series 5 will soon be on the way too, and with that comes new challenges and cars – expect to be working towards the likes of the rather gorgeous Epic Noble M600 and Legendary M-B 300SL.

Remember to make sure you download a copy of Forza Horizon 5 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S or PC. It’s freely downloadable via Game Pass and available from the Xbox Store for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
