What do you get when you let Headup Games and Happy Tuesday mix strategy, tower defense and RPG elements? Hero Defense of course!
Announced today for Xbox One and PS4, Hero Defense will mix together elements of the RTS and tower defense genres, whilst dropping in the depth of an RPG title for good measure.
Hero Defense is set in a dark fantasy world that has been populated by vampires, werewolves and zombies. It will be up to you to strategically move your team of heroes through various arenas, destroying the enemies as you go. Hero Defense is an interesting challenge for a wide spectrum of players as you join Jack Sanders’ team of monster slayers and defend the world by using individual skills and weapons, combined with runes and powerful spells.
It promises plenty of depth due to numerous customization possibilities and RPG elements like skill trees, modifiable weapons, runes and magic spells.
But in order to succeed, you’ll need to destroy the world’s most powerful vampire. Taking your team of five heroes into battle will see plenty of opportunity impale, slash, tear and burn through legions of undead hell-bent on world domination!
Features include:
- Kill creeps fast to punish the enemy in an innovative mix of RTS and Tower Defense
- Liberate your island, assemble your team and enjoy hours of a narrated story
- Defeat gigantic bosses which challenge you with their special abilities
- Customize your heroes through a deep RPG layer
- Rebuild your town and unlock new buildings and abilities
- Gain XP to access and level up each hero’s individual skill tree
- Gather loot and equip spells that freeze, burn and poison the undead
- Modify weapons by collecting and socketing powerful runes and customize your builds for devastating combos and skill-synergies
- Replay procedurally generated enemies and endless mode challenges
Hero Defense will be coming to Xbox One and PS4 in October 2017. A re-launch for PC players is planned too.
Hell yeah man, this is my favorite genre, Tower Defense RPG style like Dungeon Defenders and Orcs Must Die is where it’s at.
