It’s time to Breakdown with Dead Rising as more Xbox games go free

We love the Xbox Games With Gold scheme. Yes, it may have had to take a bit of a back seat over recent years as the even more impressive Xbox Game Pass has taken centre stage, but being able to get access to new free games each and every month is something we’ll never tire of. And 2021 ain’t doing bad in that respect either, with January’s Games With Gold titles delivering some quality affairs. Right now, as the hump of the month hits home, two new games are being stripped of their price tags going forward.

In a month in which we’ve already seen the stunning Little Nightmares and hardcore The King of Fighters XIII become free to download, it’s now time to turn the focus on to a couple more games, namely Dead Rising and Breakdown.
The former of these pretty much speaks for itself. A much loved series that brings all the gore you could imagine, mixing it in with a ton of humour and wacky ideas, Dead Rising is one of those must-play titles – a game that you should be downloading for free from the Xbox Store this very minute.

It’s most certainly the standout option found in the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for January 2021, and with Little Nightmares still free until the end of the month, the next few weeks are looking extremely tasty for Xbox gamers.

What’s more is the fact that those games are joined by an utter classic – Breakdown. This first person action adventure would normally set you back £9.19, but from now until the end of the month you’ll be able to get free access to a game that originally released way back in 2004. Does that mean it’s aged badly? Perhaps, but it’s still free and it’s still a game that you can drop in to your digital library for a rainy day.

As always to get access to any of the free titles available in the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for January 2021 – or any of the months going forward – you’ll need a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription to hand. With that in place, just pop over to the Xbox Store right now and grab your copies of Dead Rising and Breakdown without delay.

Let us know in the comments which you’ll be playing first too. We’d love to hear from you.
