Looking for the definitive SamSho experience? The Samurai Shodown NEOGEO Collection is the one you are looking for, and today it launches on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Comprising seven of the very best Samurai Shodown titles in one awesome bundle, the Samurai Shodown NEOGEO Collection does pretty much as it says on the tin, taking the iconic series that first started back in 1993 and throwing it out to the Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo worlds.

Priced at £33.49, the Samurai Shodown NEOGEO Collection on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch follow on from the previous PC launch to deliver fans something pretty special, as the weapon-based fighter hits the modern day scene.

Included here and now are no less than six of the very best NEOGEO SamSho titles, along with one previously unreleased affair, with all coming complete with online battle modes, a Museum Mode and a music player. If you’re a fan of what Samurai Shodown has provided over the years, or you’re just looking for a new, old, fighter, this is the collection for you.
In place in the NEOGEO Collection are the original Samurai Shodown from 1993, the sequel Samurai Shodown II from 1994 and then the trilogy completer, Samurai Shodown III from the year after. They are then complemented by Samurai Shodown IV Amakusa’s Revenge from 1996, before gamers had to take in a 7 year wait for Samurai Shodown V in 2003. It wasn’t long before this was hit with a Special Edition in 2004, before once more seeing things grind to a halt. Until now that is where we see the arrival of Samurai Shodown V Perfect in this bundle – a game that promises to deliver the ultimate Samurai Shodown V experience to fans.

When you also consider the variety of other options that are on the table – Japanese or English MVS arcade versions for each titles, scanlines that deliver that retro flair, save functions, and an arcade mode that can be set to Free Mode ensuring no more game overs, and there is on the face of it lots to love about this Samurai Shodown NEOGEO Collection.

Features include:

  • â–  Each title comes with Online Versus Battle Modes! Get paired up with warriors of a similar level with Ranked Match, or just blow off some steam with Casual Match. Take on your friends and see who’s best in the Challenge Friend mode. Now you can take on SAMURAI SHODOWN fans across the world with the push of a button.
  • â–  A Museum Mode brimming with content! The Museum is packed with over 2,000 precious development documents and images; it is everything a SamSho fan could want! There is even hours worth of candid videotaped interviews with the developers, as they discuss what happened during development back in the day. Prepare to dive straight into the world of SAMURAI SHODOWN with this collection!
  • â–  Over 200 tracks in the Music Player! Relive the excitement of the SAMURAI SHODOWN series by listening to all of the individual titles’ soundtracks. In the Music Player found inside the Museum, there are over 200 tracks to choose from, spanning all six titles.
